I still really like the Roger Rabbit movie. (And it's nice that the rights belong to the original author again)
Like, in general, it's a great movie. One of the things that I really love is the scene in which it's revealed that, despite all his painful memories and grudge against Toons, Eddie Valiant still kept his Toon revolver and bullets.
It's a really nice emotional thing AND it's also just really fun to have a human interact with Toon items like that.
Damn, I'd love to play in a movie with Toons. 😊
Great movie, I gotta rewatch it again.

Tekenaar Jane Baer is op 91-jarige leeftijd overleden. Volgens Deadline overleed zij maandag in haar slaap in Californië. Zij werkte dertig jaar lang voor Walt Disney Animation Feature en was in die hoedanigheid mede verantwoordelijk voor een groot aantal klassiekers van het tekenfilmconcern.

Après plus de trois décennies d’attente, le créateur de Roger Rabbit, Gary K. Wolf, récupère officiellement les droits de ses personnages et relance l’univers culte. Au programme : plusieurs projets en développement, dont un film live-action centré sur Jessica Rabbit, inspiré de son roman Jessica Rabbit : Xerious Business. Un tournant majeur qui pourrait redonner vie à Toontown loin de Disney.
Une victoire juridique offrant une nouvelle liberté créative
La récupération des droits après 35 ans
Gary K. Wolf a confirmé avoir repris le contrôle total de ses œuvres grâce à la clause américaine de réversion de droits de 35 ans. Ce mécanisme lui permet désormais d’exploiter librement l’univers de Roger Rabbit, après des décennies durant lesquelles Disney et Amblin partageaient l’exploitation du personnage. L’auteur précise que la démarche s’est déroulée sans conflit, Disney ayant coopéré de manière courtoise et transparente.

Le roman retrace les origines du personnage, née Jessica Krupnick dans un monde sans Toons, bien éloigné de l’icône glamour connue du grand public. L’histoire la suit dans sa quête d’émancipation, jusqu’à devenir agent secret au sein de XERIOUS, une organisation dédiée à la traque de criminels d’envergure mondiale.

Was anyone else upset (and is still upset) by what happened to the animated shoe in Roger Rabbit?
It kind of made the film feel so depressing from that moment onwards, was thinking about the shoe the whole time.
They perhaps should have done this a bit differently, or had some kind of follow-on about it instead of leaving these events hanging over the rest of the film. It was meant to be a fun film for little kids after all.
