Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) has a great gallery of imagery up now from the Wednesday 9/9 test of the "superspeedway" version of the new Dallara IR-28 #Indycar.

Two previous winners - Rossi and Palou - wrung the new design out at the Brickyard in the day-long test session. Reports are that Engineers were happy with the progress of the program.

Speculating if Colton Herta ends up doing a year in Hypercars in Europe (WEC) or in IMSA for Wayne Taylor Racing which is a sister team of Andretti who don't have an opening in Indycar right now. He has no chance of having a good Indycar ride next year, and F2 has been a total bust, so I don't see why not rebuild your rep for a year.

So now when we've heard statements from everybody on the #Indycar #P2Pcheat I think it's beginning to clear up.

#Penske screwed up. When two of their drivers happened to press the P2P button and noticed it worked when it shouldn't, one of them decided "wth - if it works it works" and kept using it.

So, as for St Pete, Newgarden was actively cheating. McLaughlin wasn't intending to. Power simply never pressed the button and didn't choose either way.

When we get to Long Beach things are different though. We can either believe Newgarden and McLaughlin never mentioned it to the team - or the team decided to see if they could get away with it.

They should be lucky it was discovered through technical mishaps at the control center - because if they had I don't think the punishment would've stopped with "just" race results being voided.

(This explains the comments from Power and McLaughlin better than any other version I can come up with)
