Watching the Champ Car race at Montreal in 2003, and whenever I watch old CART/Champ Car races my biggest takeaway is just that Paul Tracy was a dangerous maniac behind the wheel most of the time even if he was very fast.

Saw this post from Will Buxton when asked why he’d leave F1 for IndyCar — “Because IndyCar has the greatest racing on Earth.”

I’m sure moving to commentary box and a fat paycheck didn’t hurt, but he’s not _wrong_. F1 is more about the engineering than wheel to wheel. Both are great. #F1 #IndyCar

Tomorrow my son and I are headed out to Monterey to watch the finale of this season of #IndyCar at Laguna Seca.

We are both so stoked as it's our favorite track and it'll be the first time we will both see it in person!

Indycar really told Josh Pierson to fuck off today. It had been in the news for a while that he was pretty much secured in a full time ride next year despite his lack of success in NXT, but the new rules announced today require a NXT driver to finish top 3 in points to be approved, so no more drivers finishing like 6th-10th buying a ride like Benjamin Pedersen, Kyffin Simpson, or Devlin DeFranceso did and Pierson was going to do.

I support it, there are times when even the runner up in points isn't at an Indycar level (look at Sting Ray Robb and Jacob Abel), so it is really ridiculous when drivers who can't even finish top 5 in points get a full time ride to constantly finish in the bottom three with.
