Really hope Indycar doesn't take the coward's path and approve Josh Pierson due to his one-off win. The kid couldn't even finish top 10 in Indy NXT points, he has no business being in an Indycar unless he can take that late season momentum and turn it into a top 3 run next year.
I'm a big fan of their new rule limiting which NXT drivers qualify for approval cause this trend of hiring drivers who finish like 6th-11th in point but bring a truckload of money just to struggle most weeks really needs to end. We'll never get rid of pay drivers, but at least we could limit the grid to only the most successful pay drivers.

I never nap but after I woke up for good today at 4:30 AM with dental pain, I couldn't keep my eyes open by the early afternoon as I tried to listen to a #WeirdAl greatest hits so I ended up crashing on my bed for like 2 hours and 15 minutes. Unfortunately missed all but the final 3 laps of #IndyNXT race as a result.

The only reason I tolerate Townsend Bell, by which I mean I watch #indycar and #IMSA on mute quite often, is because I know if Fox ever let them go they'd probably replace him with Jack Harvey who they keep insisting on trying to make their Michael Waltrip despite him being a lackluster pit reporter AND #IndyNXT commentator.

It is cool seeing more Indycar teams than just Andretti in the Indy NXT series this year. Ganassi, Foyt, a co-effort between Cape Motorsports and Ed Carpenter Racing. Foyt and Cape-ECR have already had some success with their rookie drivers, Ganassi is an all pay-driver squad not competing for wins

- last year's (2023) test, Lindsay Brewer set a best lap of 1:18.6942, which was 3.8510 seconds off the fastest lap of the test (set by Louis Foster)
- this year's (2024) test, Hailie Deegan set a best lap of 1:18.9038, which was 3.7190 seconds off the fastest lap of the test (set by Myles Rowe) -
Right, #INDYNXT Chris Griffis Memorial Test day complete! Surely Hailie Deegan has managed to set some competitive lap times compared to the rest of the field!
