    EEEK! Ketchup on pasta?!?

    For three years now, I have become a Rao's snob and not ashamed of it.

    In my airfryer, a couple of times a week = potato skins loaded with cheese and covered in Old Bay and more Old Bay in a sour cream dipping sauce. Or, mushrooms with same Old Bay setup. Or, Fried Pickles w/o the Old Bay .... and w/o the #moonshine.

  7. The power of suggestion: Someone asked me if the dish Chicken and Dumplings is a "Soup" or a "Main Course" in a cookbook. So I had to make a batch.

    To this #Appalachian the answer is obvious.

  8. Kitchen prep early evening, doing a little lactofermentation setup. Jargon for 2.2% salt brine left to ferment with ambient bacteria.

    - 2 jars jalapeños, carrot, onion to become Mexican pickles
    - 1 jar jalapeño
    - 1 jar carrot and Old Bay (my little nod to Maryland, where Old Bay could be our second state flag if we weren't so obsessed with the current one)

  9. @johnvoorhees But particularly like the point @johnvoorhees made about how specific food used to be to states and regions. Growing up, I traveled a lot between NYC, MD/DC, and NC and the food in each area was so specific. Only MD/DC had #OldBay too. And #MumboSauce too. Both delicious.

  10. Listening to @johnvoorhees explain the whole concept of #Maryland crabs, #OldBay seasoning, hush puppies, and tater tots is cracking this #Maryland Native of #Italian ancestry up. I swear I can hear my #Italian ancestors laughing. 😂 Also Old Bay beer is awesome.
