Our new EG4 LiFePo4 batteries are supposed to be delivered Tuesday.
I just finished as much wiring as I can and set up the Smart Shunt. Want to wait until they arrive and I see how long the included cables are to mount the negative buss bar for tidiest cable management.
Getting quite the network of smart shunts now. lol. I also just figured out how to but them in bluetooth GATT mode which should save power and reach further.
We'll probably get a Cerbo GX to put them all on WiFi at some point. Trying to limit purchases as we pursue some grant options to help pay for infrastructure.
If our grant writer wasn't out sick when we needed to cut a check for the batteries we may have been able to pursue something.

Bloody hell.
While doing the wiring on our solar system, I did get a spark that fried our Outback communications hub.
I immediately ordered the hub4 from The Solar Store. They called this morning to tell me it's out of stock and that Outback looks like it's going under, so no restocking in the future.
Luckily they had the hub10 in stock - which is twice the cost but will work.
The more concerning part is Outback going out of business. I talked to the Solar Store rep and he said it's not official yet, but they heard outback has laid off most of its staff.
So now we're going to have to order a few key parts to make sure we have spares on hand. Especially the Mate3.
This also likely means they're going to stop maintaining the OpticsRE website that allows us to get system data when we're not here.
Really glad we have Phase 2 of our solar upgrade in the works which will transition our main system to EG4, and the Outback system will then just be a backup.

I am back in my career doing what I love.

So far this year my off-grid set-up has produced, according to various apps and meters, over 7,000 kWh or 7 MWh of power πͺ« across Solar and Wind (with a small 110kWh from Diesel before the Solar was installed).
The potential is so much more but the solar is curtailed once the 45kW of batteries are full.
