Well, it's day 3 without power. Seems like we are always the last to regain it, and I guess being one of at least 6 houses without it makes us less of a priority. A few hours ago our puppy’s bell plugged into the wall flickered to life and made some noise, but that hope is gone. Maybe that means they figured out the issue and are actually working on it now, who knows.

Meanwhile, I keep on crossing my fingers for enough people will buy my ebooks on sale through Smashwords to help recoup some of the lost groceries, since everything is so damn expensive and we're just barely getting by. At least a nice storm started early this morning that brought down the temp outside and in the house a bit, making sleep a bit more comfortable. That, plus the melatonin, helped.

I think one of the things that really sucks, aside from money lost through the dead fridge, and the life draining heat making simply existing that much more uncomfortable, is the fact that it's the end of my vacation. I had the week off due to my portion of the facility being shut down for the week of the 4th of July every year, and most of it was spent struggling and frustrated, and then crawling around with no heat or power. Tonight I get to go roast at work.

To everyone else out there still waiting for your power to be restored, I hope you're having a better time than us and get it back soon enough. For the rest of ya monsters out there… happy Sunday, head over to Smashwords and grab my poetry book for free, and a couple of my other books. Every little bit helps.

  5. Turns out the update made #BaldursGate3 incompatible with #macOSBigSur. Once I finally upgraded the OS, the game launched.

On the other hand I'm currently in the middle of a #powerOutage, so I can't really play it on what my laptop battery can provide. Gonna have to wait a little bit longer to get back on.

  6. Big shout out to the #GreenMountainPower #GMP crews who have been working relentlessly the past few days trying to restore #power to thousands of homes across #Vermont after the big #winter #storm. Our power came back last night after being out for almost 45 hours, but there are still over 600 active incidents and 8,000 people without power. Stay safe out there!

The #remote #homelab came back up and everything (including #HomeAssistant and the #Wyze cams) is working again.

  10. Looks like the big storm in #Vermont is taking its toll on the power grid! Needless to say, my remote #homelab is currently offline.

#GreenMountainPower has got their work cut out for them - they're currently showing almost 1,500 active incidents impacting almost 50,000 customers in over 150 towns.

Although losing power sucks, their alerting system is great, and their real-time dashboard works really well too.
