I came across a Android app called #socialmesh, which I find far better the the Android mestastic app . So that's nice 👍

My guy we are a single city if you can not tell me "Yeah man we typically use #Mestastic over #Meshcore" or vice versa this will NOT work your on boarding is none existent. This is doomed to fail and fully explains stagnation over the last two years. also why do I have to beg in a "help" chat for this info and why is the "resources" channel hidden by default (not like it explains the cities sane defaults or best way to connect or get started). And no saying "just run both nothing is permanent" is not a solution to people getting started. I hate this I hate this I hate this :APepeAngryType:

Hi @jwildeboer @_elena,
I ponder getting me 2 #heltec v3[1] 870MHz for me here in #Traunstein (between Rosenheim-Salzburg), to experiment with #Meshcore and #Mestastic with #Linux Mint and #FreeBSD. (And for the youth-hacker-meetup I host)
Can you recommend a supplier and a setup? (Not Amazon) -
Mestastic is a way of sharing messages widely even if the internet goes down. It uses small radios. Each of these is called a node on the network. They are set up by any member of the public. They can relay encrypted messages to maintain privacy.
I feel like it should just be part of our everyday infrastructure.
I would never have known about it except for a random comment on here leading to me finding out a friend of mine runs a node.

Does anyone know how or if anyone has worked on i2c keyboard support (like the cardKB) for the e-ink meshtastic ui? I have been reading the code and am a bit confused as to why it doesnt work. Has anyone got it to work?

I found it pretty quick and easy to throw together nodes and repeaters.
Even got some permanent installs in some high places. Built piles of nodes for frens.
Which my friends went wild and threw up more nodes, built chat bots and mesh bots.
And it's chattering away.
Meshtastic postives:
- code works
- there's DM level pub/priv crypto
- community is slinging a lot of code
- there's docs now
- it's popular so you will see some nodes in many places including the US. -
Some interesting #mestastic presentations at #spectrum24 . I need to get some interviews with them for @hpr

My Muzi H1 arrived today, now living the #Mestastic life. I’ve been amazed at the number of nodes around me and the distance I am able to connect too. I am Cardiff base seeing nodes as far away as Bournemouth.

There's loads around the area but I seem to be the only person on Meshtastic in the city of Manchester! #mestastic #manchester

kleines #Mestastic Staud update:

#Mestastic One of the issues I had with installing the Mestastic firmware on my devices was that on Linux, you need to make sure that your user account is part of the 'dialout' group, and then log out and log back in again. Even with that I needed to do a reboot of my laptop between each device update, which suggests that t here is an issue in the underlying web serial interface, not an issue that I expect Meshtastic to address. I kept getting 'stuck' at the "Connecting..." stage. Worked around.

#Mestastic Spent several hours last night getting 3 of my LoRa nodes functioning. There's still a lot of work to do, including building weather tight hardware for the nodes that will b e outside, and at least 1, more like 2 extended range antennas, and finish out the @randomalleycat (YouTube account) cases for these.
One T-Deck (of 2 with LoRa Radios) and 2 T-Beams (both items from LillyGo) are up, as well as the Meshtastic software on my phone and some tablets.
