  1. 🎶 Welcome to the #Scala #Funhouse, where you too can experiment with the obscure art of #tuning #scales no one asked for! 🚀 Enjoy the thrilling experience of drowning in a sea of #microtones and macrotones, while desperately trying to impress exactly zero friends with your newfound knowledge of #nonWestern scales. 🎹 Because who wouldn't want to spend their free time comparing endless lists of esoteric tunings? 🙃

  3. I made this post on my blog with links to non-western news sources. All the sources are on the left or southern side of Al Jaazera which isn't there due to it's half western bias. I hope to expand it. The world got a lot bigger for me once i started looking at all the news.#news #geopolitics #censorship #press #leftist #nonwestern soraxtm.wordpress.com/2024/10/

  5. Daughter of Fire by Sofia Robleda

“Robleda blends historical research with subjective descriptions of faith, weaving a novel is both a portrayal of 16th Century Guatemala under Spanish rule and a mystical quest to preserve the Mayan soul.”

  6. Perhaps you can help a reader who asked, "Could you please suggest me a doctoral [program] in #nonWestern #culture, thought [or] #philosophy?"

Reshare and/or comment below if you have ideas (or know people who have ideas).

One could possibly be forgiven for assuming that #FOSS couldn't have really taken off until the #Internet reached a certain critical mass, and that it had only done so in the final decade of the 20th century. Bit of a stretch… Whatever. 🤷

But wow, they actually said that #NASA started in the late #90s? Literally the most famous thing NASA ever did (not to mention the most watched live TV broadcast in history) was the #Apollo11 moon landing on July 20th, 1969 — a date etched on the timeline of major historic events, right between D-Day (June 6th, 1944) and September 11th, 2001.

I wasn't at #fosdem, but by any chance were the keynote speakers you mentioned perhaps just super-young, or maybe from a #NonWestern culture, where the specific details (like names and dates) of western-centric historic events aren't emphasized in schools? 🤔

On the other hand, maybe they're just typical rich, entitled #TechBros, and #ChatGPT wrote their keynotes for them. 🤣 #SeemsLegit

It documents the #culture, #religious #cosmology & #ritual practices, #society, economics & #naturalhistory of the #Aztec people. Described as "one of the most remarkable accounts of a #nonWestern #culture ever composed."
