It was hot today—almost 37 degrees! Definitely felt it while out and about. Had lunch at one of my favorite spots, then checked out some op shops for a handbag, but they were all too small.
Had to make a vet appointment for Meesa’s vaccinations next week and double-check her microchip since one of the companies storing that data shut down. Thankfully, we’re not affected.
Also looked over some of my uni course material in preparation for next week when it officially starts. Picked up lamb, chicken, potato salad, and Greek salad for dinner for the next two nights. Now I’m exhausted and ready to relax.

32) Interview prep: There's really no substitute for talking to someone who knows the institution. It really blew my mind how helpful this was, and how unfair. But the system's not fair.
So leverage your connections. Tell people about your upcoming interviews. There's a chance they'll know something or someone that might help.

I’ve just submitted my final assessment for my Graduate Certificate in Neuroscience, and now I’m facing a dilemma on which master’s program to pursue. I’m passionate about neuroscience and mental health, and I want to explore how insights from neuroscience can inform trauma recovery, stress reduction, and mindful living. I’m torn between a Master of Applied Positive Psychology and other options like social science or behavioural science. One focuses on psychological well-being, while the others might offer more breadth for my research interests. Trying to find the right fit for my academic and career goals.

Then the bigger ones. The fears about the quality of your work, the years spent on this degree, and whether you'll get to have an academic career.

22) Sometimes you try again.
I occasionally get a like on this thread & wonder if I should continue it. But the conclusion of this year's market is that I chose to stay in #GradSchool another year over taking a job that didn't feel quite right at this time.
It's a big privilege to have the breathing room & funding for another year. It doesn't feel good but I'm a little more confident in the decision each day.

🏀 Watched the #Purdue #Boilermakers today, breaking their previous scoring record in the #NCAA tournament.
🧀 My brother had made some homemade farmer's cheese, and let me taste it. Totally delish! He's handy like that!
