  2. ChoiceJacking, czyli kolejny powód by nie korzystać z publicznych ładowarek

Wielu z nas słyszało ostrzeżenia dotyczące zagrożeń płynących z podłączania telefonów do niezaufanych ładowarek.

  3. 🩴☀️ Summer tip: Public charging stations at airports, hotels, and beach bars? Cute… until they start stealing your data.

🔌 It’s called “juice jacking”—malicious USB ports can siphon your info while you charge.

📌 Pack a USB data blocker
📌 Use your own wall adapter
📌 Or go full boss mode: bring a power bank

    Stay sun-kissed, not data-kissed. 🌞🔐

  7. Great work by the team at TU Graz: modified peripherals (such as chargers or USB sticks) can bypass countermeasures of Android and iOS and gain access to internal resources of your phone.

  8. Researchers say that #juicejacking defenses have been trivial to bypass for years. The premise seemed sound given the restriction against a USB device simultaneously acting as a host and peripheral. However, the trust models built into both iOS and Android present loopholes that can be exploited to defeat the protections. The researchers went on to devise ChoiceJacking, the first known attack to defeat juice-jacking mitigations arstechnica.com/security/2025/

  9. Low battery at the airport?
That USB port might do more than charge—it could steal your data.

Juice jacking is real: public USB ports can install malware or harvest info while you top off.

✅ Use a USB data blocker
✅ Bring your own wall plug
    ✅ Carry a power bank

📌 Power ≠ privacy. Don’t plug in blindly.

Recently added quite a few finger-sized gadgets!
    - Kingston DataTraveler Exodia 64GB
    - Orico USB-C female to USB-A male
    - PortaPow Data Blocker Pure - Prevents juice jacking
    - Sandisk Ultra Luxe 64GB
    - Kingston Ironkey Locker+ 50 32GB
    - Yubico Security Key USB C NFC

Really happy with the performance of each product so far.

  11. Will someone please explain to me why everyone keeps freaking out about #juicejacking? Android has protection from it by default in the operating system. When plugging into a port capable of transferring data you need to manually enable data transfer. Maybe iPhone is different?

  12. The #BlackHatAsia presentation "Behind the Scenes: How Criminal Enterprises Pre-infect Millions of Mobile Devices" feels suspicious.
It speaks of millions of Android devices infected directly through the manufacturer, without mentioning brands or malware types.

Media ist going into panic overdrive.
    (Reminds me of #JuiceJacking)

Any pointers to more information is welcome.

  17. Remember all the warnings about "juice jacking" from public USB charging stations?
This attack is not a thing. The warnings are nonsense, says Ars Technica.
It's apparently never been documented to ever have happened in the wild.
