Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC), a car manufacturer in Pakistan, has announced a significant price increase for two Kia models, effective from February 1, 2024. The base Kia Picanto MT will now cost PKR 3,600,000, reflecting an increase of PKR 250,000 from its previous price of PKR 3,350,000.
Similarly, the Kia Sportage Alpha will experience a price hike of PKR 250,000, now priced at PKR 7,550,000, up from PKR 7,300,000. The company did not provide a specific reason for the price increase. Notably, LMC decided not to increase the prices of other Kia models, including Picanto AT, Stonic EX+, Sportage FWD, AWD, Sorento, and Carnival.

This is a medium sized “average” car, usually a bestseller for the middle class.
No information on the price yet, but the plug-in hybrid version is already 16 million HUF (39K EUR) in Hungary. This version will be for sure more expensive. Which is insane, because the avg monthly salary is 332K HUF (808 EUR)
