I know this is very general and high level. I am spitballing and looking for anyone on here that has more expertise, and maybe wants to make a friend who needs access to tools for an electric car retrofit (double bonus, you wanted to help and are just happy someone else is putting up the money for parts and shit.)

I'm an unhinged lunatic. I want to be able to properly move from job to job without having to figure out how to move all my shit, find housing, and upend my life again. For a decade I have moved states and been busy just staying alive while my labor creates worse conditions for literally ever single organism on the planet, and crushing my will to live, or be as I would please.

To this end, I want to move into a van/bus/trailer. And to further the environmental aspects and give longer longevity to the machine I want the entire thing to run off of electricity.

I'm leaning towards building a separate trailer where I can cook, clean, and sleep. With it's own electrical systems and a separate electric vehicle that can tow. That would allow me to go places without having to figure out how I'm parking with this bitch and constantly explaining what the fuck is going on with me.

I am literally taking an electrical engineering degree to be more than a hobbiest electrician. This is not a joke. I know it's not as comfortable, at least in some ways. But the comfort to my soul and the freedom it provides is more valuable to me than having my landlord pay my water bill.

The thing I'm concerned with at this moment, is spec-ing out what vehicle I can reasonably acquire, and this is where I would like to open the discussion to anyone that reads this (although if you all have better ideas about my strat then shit. I'll definitely consider it.)

I would like to do something like an old truck retrofitted to be electric. Once I know what that would take monetarily (with a lot of my own sweat I am sure.) I can really get working on the trailer (and if it's all for nothing, then at least my car is electric.)

At the moment I've started referencing this site https://cmvte.com/electric-pickup-truck-conversion-kit-everything-you-need-to-know-before-converting-your-truck-to-electric/ as a way to get a grasp of the process. But I am hoping to be scrappier/more hands on than a kit in this regard. Since this is a heavy after market process, it's going to pretty much only be serviced by me I imagine.

This is the start of what I imagine will be a semi-long process. I'm gonna need to replace my car before too long anyway, so the vehicle, with a proper towing capacity, is the first step.
