Berries in my honeysuckle or haskap bushes (Lonicera caerulea var. kamtschatica) are starting to ripen. Berries are blue but still quite sour, so maybe after couple of sunny day those are ready. Place where I planted the bushes is not the best possible and I need to consider moving those to more sunny location in the garden. Blueberries are still raw but in the woods first bilberries are ready to be picked. I just love this season towards the autumn.

Oh, that definitely sounds yum! If it's available here, I haven't found it. I do need to process the #Haskap berries that I picked early in the summer. Picking some kind of fruit and making jam from it is on my essential summer checklist. So is swimming in a lake but I sadly missed out on that one.

It's going to be another very hot day but my apartment is still tolerable so I made a batch of pinto beans, threw the #haskap berries I picked yesterday in the freezer for a cooler day to process them, and I brined my Napa cabbage to make #kimchi this evening. This part of the summer is FULL of activities that I want to enjoy: 2 art festivals, and 2 #PowWows in the area. I want to get out on my #bicycle, and drink #beer on patios.
