About 7 months ago, I approached Premee Mohamed to see if she would write a climate fiction story for Grist, which would be published outside of the #Imagine2200 contest.
She sent in this delightful piece about a young woman getting separated from her nomadic city during a storm. It was a joy for me to edit this story, and now everyone can read it!

It's neat to read another book that deals with fracking square-on. Maryann Lesert's book reads like memoir. My book, THE WORKING (launching summer 2024) has a major anti-fracking thread though is "fantasy." <<in quotes because it's more fabulism (contemporary speculative fiction with some fantastical notes).

I highly recommend Weird Fishes by @raemariz .
Eco- and climate fiction that decenters humans. I love how Rae incorporates marine science and Hawai'ian lore through nonhumans views of life in the ocean. Characters include cephalopods, coral, and sea mammals.
