  7. About the art process behind my book covers…and a question...

I began abstract painting around 2015–2016 after many years of realistic pen and ink sketching connected to my architectural work. Over time, colour, geometry, and nature shifted my practice toward abstraction.

In 2022, I gave an artist talk at the Lundt‑Glover Gallery in Chatham, NJ, hosted by the Art League of the Chathams, where I discussed my work at the time, including digital developments in NFTs and my decision not to pursue that direction.

Later that year, I began the 27‑painting series that my current ecofiction trilogy covers are based on, using four panels from that show as the starting point for the newer work.

    Three good things:
    1. Making art.
    2. Sharing art.
    3. Selling art to pay for more art supplies!!!

Watch the full 38‑minute talk here: youtu.be/X400L4JI-LQ

The piece shown, Wellness, was part of the solo show and later became the cover for our ASEI Arts international charity anthology, Anthology House Vol. 2, created to benefit UNICEF.

A question for my art and book lover peeps here: when you think about art and the art of book covers, what lights you up, what inspires you, and what are you drawn to reach out for?

  8. "I was riveted by this all-too-believable tale of post-apocalyptic struggle between corporate overlords and undercover radicals, which also manages to work as a heartfelt family drama and a love letter to Paris.” Gratitude to Emma Donoghue for her kind words about Wendy Waring's debut!

Stay tuned for upcoming events for The Hunger of Those Who Built it, including the official book launch happening at The City & The City in Hamilton on September 10, 7-9pm.

  9. I made a 'The Sims 3' Post Containment Neighborhood. Sunset Valley has been wiped out by storms, floods, and fire. Survivors are living in the scorched hillside and Jared Frio is pissing sims off with his 3 am guitar sessions. 10. RE: mastodon.social/@TinJar/116632

We seem to be getting numb to the climate change driven disasters killing thousands around the world. However, we need to act quickly to not just end GHG emissions but also move masses from already deadly places to relatively safer ones. We need explore new ideas to do this via both fiction and nonfiction. “A New Faith” is one such effort.

  11. I just posted a new MKBC Studio video introducing my ecofiction trilogy: The Erenwine Agenda, Otter Coast, and Rail. It includes the new covers, the artwork behind each design, and short live readings from all three books. This one was fun to make and brings together architecture, landscape, memory, and environmental storytelling.

If you enjoy ecofiction, design thinking, or interdisciplinary work, you might like this look at how the trilogy came together.

  12. Wtem!

W każdym razie, piszę o zbiorze opowiadań "The Other Shore" Rebekki Campbell (wyd.

  26. So excited to share the new book covers for my ecofiction trilogy! These were designed by Canadian artist and graphic designer Laurie Landry, who artfully incorporated my paintings. I worked on the trilogy for 15 years and the paintings (part of a series of 27 large panels) for 5 years...

The first two novels, The Erenwine Agenda: A Hydraulic Fracturing Love Story, and Otter Coast: A Medical Marijuana Mystery, were previously published and will be reprinted with the new covers. Rail: A High Speed Adventure, will be published for the first time in a few weeks.

What connects fracking, marijuana and infrastructure, you might ask? They are threaded together by the singular journey of the protagonist, Amalia Sengupta Erenwine, who begins as an intern working in architecture, then pursues her licensing exams, and finally, works as a registered architect. Her visionary states lead her across regions, countries and continents, culminating in the final novel, Rail. Though a trilogy, these can be read (and people are currently reading) standalone, not in order. I'll share more with next steps and notes from the studio.

For now: three good things, in Mastodon style: 1. inspired ideas 2. great collaborators 3. easy platforms on which to share them-thank you @PaulaToThePeople ! @ThreeGoodThings
