The goal of #voting in #elections is to get the people and policies you actually want. Your #vote increases the chance you wil get what you want.
It is the opposite of #gambling.
When you #gamble, in a #predictions #market for example, you are trying to guess what *other people* want, which might be the exact opposite.
It helps if you remember that #polls were originally conducted by #campaigns to help each #campaign #manager know what strategies are working.
Unless you are running a campaign, you can ignore polling. Especially if you, yourself, don't answer #surveys/polls.
