Quel bonheur de voir Quatre nuits d’un rêveur en salle ! C’est un film limpide ! une d’histoire limpide, dont j’avais tout oublié, ou presque.
Je ne l’avais jamais vu en salle. Il a été bloqué pendant des décennies, pour une sombre histoire de droits. J’avais seulement vu un court extrait à la Cinémathèque, à une journée de confs avec Pierre Lhomme. Et puis, il y a eu un blu-ray japonais pirate, alors j’ai trouvé un fichier…
Mais en salle, c’est autre chose ! Ça ressort en 2025 par Carlotta. Vous irez ! Les deux plus grands cinéastes français sont Jean Renoir et Robert Bresson. N’essayez pas de les départager, c’pas possible !

Les mains dans les films de Robert Bresson. Ça fait longtemps que je connais cette vidéo. Je repostais le lien hier sur BS pour Marianne, et j’ai decouvert qu’elle ne la connaissait pas, alors que j’aurais parié le contraire.
C’est une occasion de faire comprendre à quel point la beauté et une sensibilité, une expressivité insensée, sont partout chez Bresson, pour qui ne le saurait pas encore. Bresson découpe les cadres, les corps, et il aime ce que les mains peuvent dire. Ses inserts parlent, sont d’une éloquence folle.
Mon admiration pour Bresson et ses films est sans limite.
C’est :: kogonada qui a réalisé ce montage pour Criterion.
