Still in recovery - #flu day 14! - but managed some #accordion play. Including starting to get to grips with Aranjuez Ma Pensée by Rodrigo ("Orange Juice" from Brassed Off), and enjoying playing loads of #Disney tunes, improvising harmonies. Though, speaking of #BrassBands, I've long thought that since they combine:
a) true excellence in performance
b) widespread participation (and support for young people's skills development)
c) strong links with local communities (inc. 'going where people are' to perform)
d) reach into otherwise under-served(/-funded) communities
e) a distinctive and valuable cultural traditionit's anomalous that they're not treated as one of #ArtsFunding's highest priorities...

My #introduction yesterday was a bit short, so here are a few more things I find of interest.
I used to conduct both #opera and West End #musicals, but my tastes in music run much wider than that, ranging from #orchestral and #choral, to #jazz, #HeavyMetal, #G&S, and #BrassBands.Can't get through a day without doing a #CrypticCrossword and spend far too much time on social media.
Still finding my way around here.
