The mister and I saw Risky Business last night, at a movie night hosted by one of his industry friends. The screening was followed by a live zoom call with Jon Avnet, one of the producers, who noted in his remarks that when they went to Tangerine Dream for the soundtrack, they had Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians in mind. I did not know that, but I'm listening to it this morning, and yup, the bones of it are definitely there in the soundtrack music. Pretty cool.

Somehow, on my way to making my first full length documentary, I became a composer. Which is like being a musician without having to actually play instruments, in Garageband it’s like playing Lego with music.
The movie comes out in October. The soundtrack album is out now, on all the music services.

Got my “orange juice” music for the classical guitar - Aranjuez by Rodrigo - and just squealed “It’s in my favourite key!” ie B minor. As well as learn it for the classical guitar I want to do an arrangement of it for the piano accordion, though in that key I won’t be able to play the chords on my 48 bass box. But my main 72 bass is fine.
