  5. Oh my god I'm actually working on #orchestral #excerpts of my own volition... I never enjoyed these back when I was auditioning, but today I felt like bringing some back out. Lots of work to be done, haha, but it's weirdly familiar to be playing them again.

Today was the scherzo from #midsummerNightsDream, mainly because my breath control has gone out the window and I know this will fix me, haha.

Here's the movement, it's about 5 minutes of #music, and if you don't know it, it's DEFINITELY worth a listen ^_^. The flute solo is near the end. You'll notice it, haha.

  6. Happy #NewReleaseFriday! I've long wished for someone to record the four #symphonies by Grażyna Bacewicz. At last my wish is coming true thanks to CPO, whose catalogue is a treasure trove of rediscovered repertoire. Check out Vol. 1 on my playlist of the week's #symphony and #orchestral #NewReleases, updated every Friday spoti.fi/3GJ8V4o

Happy #NewReleaseFriday! Fabio Luisi's recording of Symphonies 4 & 5 was a Record of the Week in October. If Volume 2 maintains that standard then we're witnessing a great Nielsen cycle in the making. 8. Happy #NewReleaseFriday!

Swedish composer Niklas Sivelöv (b. 1968) has written six symphonies so far. I've not heard a note of them so I'm intrigued to explore the recording that starts my playlist of the week's #symphony and #orchestral #NewReleases, updated every Friday: spoti.fi/3gwHG2X
