RIP Peter “Chuck” Badie, age 96. Longtime bass player (with Sam Cooke, Lionel Hampton, and many bands in New Orleans for decades). I haven't found a news source obit online yet, but the sad news from multiple local musicians and a neighbor.

Sully House, Carrollton, New Orleans.

1893 house by New Orleans architect Thomas Sully built as his own residence. Originally one of three Sully designed houses on the block, it is the only one remaining in the 21st century. Downtown lake corner of Carrollton & Plum Streets; now numbered 1305 S. Carrollton Avenue, historically also listed as 1303.
