Life with the geese is so funny.
Just now, they hopped the fence and loudly paraded then started full on running away from me down the driveway to see if their new favorite mud spot is still there when I came out to shoo them back over the (crappy) fenceline.
A literal minute later after I'd gone back inside with the front door still open, they very quietly hopped the fence again and honked to each other softly and walked up the driveway this time.
I just rolled my eyes and let them go this time. Whatever, i have things to do, haha!#Louisiana #IndigenousGulf #farmstead #Indigenous #geese #farmlife

Bvlbancha Public Access is pleased to announce that we have received a $50,000 grant from the Mellon Foundation Humanities in Place program.
In late 2024, the Foundation reached out to our team and requested that we submit an application to continue Bvlbancha Public Access’ mission of platforming Indigenous Gulf South voices. We are honored that the work of uplifting our community of collaborating artists and leaders compelled national support. Our proposal, “Equitable Recursion,” shores up existing programming of the Indigenous Gulf Stream biennial, and grows our work within art-centered convenings, publications, and equitable intellectual property interactions.
This grant makes the 2025 Indigenous Gulf Stream possible and allows our organization the leeway to push further into joyful and innovative media.

End of May chicken updates!
All 10 original chicks are getting strong and doing well! I've taught at least a couple of them how to use the chicken swing, and I'm so proud of them. They bob their head to keep up the momentum and everything, it's wonderful.
We added 3 black copper maran chicks to the total numbers today! They're inside until they're big enough to begin the slow integration into the flock!
