Hetze vom Feinsten
Allein schon für den allgemeinen Informationaustausch unter den Nachbarn und Freunden - die natürlich ebenfalls mit Verwandten, Nachbarn und Freunden Kontakt halten wollen -, war es nötig, in unserer Familie EIN Whatsapp-fähiges Gerät vorzuhalten. Mein FairPhone hat sich dagegen gesträubt, versaut zu werden.Erzähl mal dieser ganzen anonymen Schar von Techniklaien, auf welcher Welle sie da mitschwimmen!...
Nun hat mir die hiesige Whatsapp-Geschädigte eine Statusbotschaft gezeigt, die offensichtlich bloß die Weiterleitung von jemand ist und so lautet:
"Eine Regierung, die 700.000 Ukrainer, 500.000 Syrer (usw.) Bürgergeld, Krankenversicherungen und kostenlose Wohnungen finanziert und dafür den eigenen Bürger gnadenlos abkassiert, muss abgewählt werden, und zwar dringend!" (Schräge Grammatik inklusive)Die Merz-Regierung und keine davor kann ich wegen des Versuchs der Menschlichkeit wegwünschen.
NUR für ihre gnadenlos unökologische Regierungsweise!
Zwei Lehren ziehe ich aus der Scheiß-Botschaft:
--- Bis in unseren Freundeskreis hat sich das AfD-Gedankengut vorgerobbt.
--- Die AfD und/oder andere extrem rechte Kreise nutzen die verbreitungsstarken Medien, um - umständehalber - auch Leute zu erreichen, die nichts mit denen am Hut haben.Immerhin rufen die Typen nur zur Abwahl, nicht zum Umsturz auf. Sonst wäre es ein Fall für den Staatsschutz.
Immerhin wissen wir jetzt, woran wir sind.

hey feddi, I need some help here, maybe from somebody with connections at #Hetzner.
I've been helping run minuteyear.com for over a decade and for most of that time we've been hosting a wordpress blog with all the daily posts on a hetzner web space.
Every day a script runs on a VPS, uploads a single image and makes a single post to the blog. This has been working flawlessly for years, up until a few weeks ago when our VPS suddenly got IP blocked. We contacted support, they unblocked the IP, a few days later it got blocked again. We asked to have the IP white listed, they say they can't do that but that they'll unblock the IP again. This lasted for a few days, then we got blocked again. We asked them again to unblock it and now we're being told we're being blocked "because of of ilegitimate requests to xmlrpc.php". wat?
We're just using the python wordpress-xmlrpc library. They showed us logs of our "ilegitimate requests" and they're just the requests from our script. Kinda at a loss of what to do here. -

1/2 In my ongoing quest to replace AWS with a simple YAML file (nearly there 😀), I added a new feature to Solidblocks Cloud to quickly deploy an S3 service to a Hetzner Cloud VM to host public static websites that can be deployed with any S3-compatible client.
