Cool, cool. End of August. Sure, no rush, bike lanes don't need protection or anything.
(#NYC's 311 has entries allowing you to report multiple types of 'illegal' games, but nothing for reporting any kind of unsafe bike lane situation. So you just send a generic comment to #NYCDOT Queens commissioner, which may get answered eventually..)

So I show up with my mid-tail (a Yuba #Kombi), and the kids, who are in the super spacious almost 3ft-wide box in the #Cetma that my wife is riding, are like "we wanna go on dad's bike!"
So they both pile on, despite only having one cushion ("I'm sitting on a bike lock! " -7yo humblebrag)
And of course after a minute, the 7yo complains that the 12yo coughed loudly in her ear, and they start fighting about who should be banished to the bakfiet. 🙄

Yesterday I took a picture of this fun little obstacle course required to get onto the #QueensBlvdPBL
Today, they were actively doing construction on it, and all of the construction worker trucks & cars were parked blocking the bike lane.
The Queens Blvd bike lane doesn't feel very "protected" these days, and it's so depressing that their big capital projects plan for the corridor won't fix it (or will even make it worse). 🙁

It’s weird to me that taking a cab on short haul (<3 miles) trips with two people is cheaper than a #citibike - I knew they didn’t get subsidies, but I didn’t realize they pay extra to operate in #nyc 🤷♀️ 💡 #bikeNYC should be cheaper than a cab.

It is super annoying that cities take care of streets for cars — and even for bikes — but leave pedestrian infrastructure in the hands of private property-owners, who may or may not have the money or contracting skill to maintain them. Even when we do, it's very expensive and often requires long waiting times. In the meantime we're responsible if people slip and fall. This is an anti-pedestrian policy. I was late to pick my daughter up from camp because #NYCParks closed a huge portion of Corona-Meadows Flushing Park. Apparently for some kind of music festival. There was, of course, no bike detour. The area has highways running through it, and the bridges over the highways are cordoned off. How do you get to #QueensZoo? Why, just take this other pedestrian bridge (which has gates blocking cargo bikes)!
