This was the worst rain and localized flooding that I’ve seen in my time biking in NYC. I was literally riding through 1-2 feet of water at times. Fellow cyclists, what say you? Any interesting stories today out there? #bikeNYC #nycbike #flooding #nyc #newyorkcity

#bikeNYC #NYCbike eastern portion- by #bike to Orchard Beach- from WaHIThe hardest (least bike lanes, most urban density&steepest grades) is the boundary of #Manhattan and The #Bronx- after that, bike lanes through this borough are the greenest, prettiest, respites w views of rivers and bays and marshes on par w anywhere in the Northeast

Went to community board 9 meeting for #bikeNYC #NYCbike to get a safe detour for my #bike lane that was washed out through neglect X climate change
But again some rando dude says I don't get it bc of generational NYC'ers
This forever outsider came to #NYC a few months pre-9/11; stayed after school; got a job. My teen kids were born here. Faced down the public school system. Stayed through 4 'post tropical’ hurricanes & scariest covid days
Now I want a safe bike lane🫳🎤

Bike infrastructure CANNOT function as a transportation network unless there is reliability of service.
Two sections of the Hudson River Greenway — in parts, the busiest bike path in the nation, are closed for many months — with a note (I mean detour sign) ‘good luck and don’t die there on Broadway along that truck route’.

Oh the joy of having the #NYCparks employee literally running from me because they don’t have a plan to fix the #HudsonRiverGreenway which succumbed to years of neglect and extreme rain and now has collapsed in a section.

I am livid that I am still unable to do my bike commute because #nycparks through hubris and neglect allowed a sinkhole to take the path out— 18 months after closing said path and supposedly fixing it.

Inwood, Upper #Manhattan (ironically, locals dub it upstate like we’re in the country, even tho its one of the densest urban environments on the planet, for its proximity to the Hudson&Harlem Rivers and vast park space)

What an awesome ride. When they shut down car traffic for bikes, that difference in scale of infrastructure investment hits home
#bikeNYC #NYCbike — I found the #5BBT super motivating to redouble my advocacy to expand the bike network in #nyc
#bike transit instead of cars is one GOOD way to help address #climate change. The 40mi /64km ride (incl stops) took just under 3 hrs
Can’t wait for the next Tour de < #Bronx #queens #brooklyn #StatenIsland #Manhattan > to explore each of the boroughs
