"'Remarkably dry conditions in October and so far in November have resulted in a historic amount of brush fires over the last two weeks,' FDNY Commissioner Robert Tucker said in a statement on Wednesday, hours before another brush fire erupted in Inwood Hill Park. Here is my day 4 of inktober- dodge. A scene very similar to this totally happened to me today as I was unicycling through Van Courtland Park. Was I dodging the pigeon, or was the pigeon dodging me? I'll leave that to the philosophers.

Yesterday in #VanCortlandtPark they were all over the place. Today in #InwoodHillPark there were even more. Like 1000’s.

I paused under the Henry Hudson Parkway to swat a few 100. Felt pointless. Some helpful guy said to me “you’re the third person I seen stopped to swat those things”. Geez.

Are new #invasives like #SpottedLanternFly worse in #nyc this year?
