@martin I use a bunch of #Meross devices, and setup them up with a local #MQTT in #HomeAssistant so that they are 100% local only. I have plugs, switches, and some bulbs. I've seen those Refoss devices and sort of wondered if they had any connection to the Meross devices. I'll have to consider giving them a whirl if I need any more and the price is right.

@northalpha I've run into the same thing with some other integrations, specifically with some #Meross devices. The Meross LAN integration, using #MQTT , exposes different entities than the #HomeKit integration. I want to say that HomeKit is just not as good as more "native" integrations.
Seems like for some smart devices HomeKit has been slapped on with minimal effort.

The Web of Things can work with multiple protocols via the bindings, such as #http , #mqtt , #bacnet or even old protocols like #modbus .
Some of these protocols split the information into different channels (headers, body, URI variables and other protocol parameters).

Apache APISIX is a high-performance API gateway with enough #MQTT protocol awareness to do loadbalancing based on the MQTT ClientID.
You have to terminate TLS on Apisix to allow for protocol awareness.

Ich habe jetzt dem dummen Ikea #VINDRIKTNING Feinstaub-Sensor beigebracht #MQTT zu sprechen. Damit bin ich jetzt in der Lage, die Werte aufzuzeichnen.
Sören Beye hat vor einer Weile auf GitHub eine Bauanleitung veröffentlicht, welche zeigt, wie man einen kleinen 5 Euro-#ESP8266 an die Ikea-Platine löten kann. Die passende Software hat er auch gleich dazu gepackt, sodass man die Kiste innerhalb weniger Minuten umbauen kann. Der beschriebene Lüfter-Mod war dann noch fast das beste, denn jetzt nervt das Geräusch nicht mehr.
Kosten: Ikea-Sensor 12,99 EUR, ESP8266-Board 5 EUR, Lebenszeit ca. 20 Minuten.

Today's work: an ESP-01S on a soldered perfboard that will notify me when something is thrown into my mail box.
Powered by a single LiFePO4 battery.
The ESP lies in deep sleep until one of the two Reed switches is triggered. Message is sent through MQTT to my home assistant.

Took another try at #EMQX to handle my mqtt traffic. 5.x looks a lot more polished than 4.x did, and works amazingly well in #Kubernetes. I know #HomeAssistant now has it as an add-on which is nice as well.
It handles certs SO much better than 4.x did (I had to hack it a bit before within the pv where the database lived).
Now if I could figure out how to integrate the users from #Authentik, I'd be a happy girl. 4.x supported LDAP, but was a bit painful

Power is out today due to a storm, absolute love being able to get alerts and monitor thru #HomeAssistant and #GenMon (from jgyates) connected via #MQTT without paying any monthly fees using all DIY components.
Also invaluable when I need to do generator maintenance.
