  6. Pretty happy with #gotosocial so far, although having a small  standalone instance, I miss the capability to add a #relay like in #snac2 which enhances interactions and visibility. I believe it's planned for GTS but what I've found so far is a bit vague.

  9. @realcainmosni there is a lot of people talking about it on the Meshtastic discord server.

On my side, I'm on a way to upcycle 1 or 2 led panels from outside led lights (no more working), and maybe some NiMH batteries.

I'm wondering if I need a module to check batteries' charge or not, ad to find the dev board for that.
    Maybe a xiao nRF52xxx + SX126xx from Seeed studio.

I follow several Maths/education related #hashtags (via #relays ), and thought at first I was getting one through each #hashtag #relay (1 post each), but when it exceeded that I looked and in fact it only contains one hashtag I follow, so it's the same post over and over again, maybe a dozen times so far. Why is that happenning? #askFedi #federation #activityPub

  26. Two tremendous dystopian whodunnit films

Two recently released dystopian thrillers are outstanding movies and both are available via streaming services.

    Mercy (2026)

    Source: imdb.com

Released earlier this year, Mercy is a tremendously interesting and entertaining science fiction movie — despite what the critics may say. In fact, the reviews and ratings by viewers of the film are much, much higher than those of the critics.

Rebecca Ferguson and Chris Pratt are tremendous in their respective roles – Ms. Ferguson as the AI generated Judge Maddox of the Mercy Capital Court and Mr. Pratt as a police officer accused of murder. He has exactly 90 minutes to prove his innocence sufficiently to AI Judge Maddox (a threshold below 92 percent likelihood of guilt) or be summarily executed.

Mr. Pratt must prove his innocence while his arms and legs are locked into the execution chair by employing all sorts of evidence gathering techniques that access the court’s ties to the municipal cloud. All technological devices within the city (LA) must be registered to the municipal cloud so defendants can access them. This includes surveillance cameras, live action feeds, cell phones, databases, and other technologies available. He can do this by use of a small hand screen or through voice requests to the cloud and/or AI Judge Maddox.

You will definitely be on the edge of your set while watching Mercy!

    Relay (2025)

Released to theaters in 2025, Relay is thoroughly entertaining movie and unique in its story/use of an older technology as the conduit to protect whistleblowers who are being tormented by those entities they called out or implicated.

Relay stars Lily James and Riz Ahmed, who both excel in this film. Lily James plays a whistleblower who is being harassed by powerful corporation that she has dirt on. Meanwhile, Mr. Ahmed play the fixer who uses old-fashion TTY (teletypewriter) relay service to communicate with his clients (the whistleblowers) and to those who are harassing them.

    TTY machine – Source: ultratec.com

This movie fan does not recall seeing TTY employed in a movie before and certainly never in such a central role of the plot. Mr. Ahmed’s use of old-fashioned TTY technology makes his communications virtually untraceable. That premise alone makes Relay highly engaging, truly groundbreaking, and a definite must see!

Hope you enjoy both films too. Peace!

  33. Here's something really useful I've found.

One of the great things about the Fediverse is being able to follow hashtags.

    But.

If someone puts up a post using that hashtag, and no-one on your instance follows that person or anyone who shares it, it won't appear in your feed.

This is particularly common if you're on a small or single-user instance.

    Here's the solution.

    First, follow @_followback

    It will follow you back.

And then tags.pub bot then reshare all of your posts that use hashtags.

So if you do a post with the hashtag #Fediverse, then @fediverse will share your post.

    Here's where the magic happens.

The tags.pub bot will do the same thing to everyone else who follows that followback account.

So if you follow @fediverse, then you'll get a feed of everyone who uses #Fediverse on the Fediverse.

And you'll see their posts even if no-one on your instance follows them.

And it works for all hashtags.

Just put the name of the hashtag, followed by @tags.pub

So @tech follows all posts using #tech, for example.

Or @news follows all posts using #news

The tags.pub bot will do the same thing to everyone else who follows that followback account.

So if you follow @fediverse, then you'll get a feed of everyone who uses #Fediverse on the Fediverse.

And you'll see their posts even if no-one on your instance follows them.

And it works for all hashtags.

Just put the name of the hashtag, followed by @tags.pub

So @tech follows all posts using #tech, for example.

Or @news follows all posts using #news

    #relay #relays #selfhosted #selfhosting #Mastodon #feditip #feditips #fedihelp

  38. Anyone out there using the #relay from @derek ? It has been down for a while now and I can't seem to reach Derek via Mastodon or email.

  39. 也搭建了一个relay:relay.feddit.social ,使用的是relay.infosec.exchange和relay.portal.gb0.dev同款的asonix/relay(或者说AodeRelay):git.asonix.dog/asonix/relay

    1. github.com/amjiddader/activity
    2. github.com/yukimochi/Activity-
    3. git.pleroma.social/pleroma/rel
    4. github.com/astro/buzzrelay
