Usually this occurs live on stage (or on this case, live from home), and focus on having fun, experimenting and just creating a lovely atmosphere.
#LoveByteDemoparty has a focus on spreading the love for #fantasyConsoles such as #Tic80 and #Pico8, which are consoles that never actually existed, but which are inspired by #retrogaming systems such as #MSX, #C64, #Amiga, #NES, etc.
They provide a creative environment with various limitations, such as amount of colours and ways to draw on screen. These limitations often help to limit the scope of the programme (and thus make it easier to actually finish something rather than get lost in elaborate designs), but more importantly to encourage creative thinking, out-of-the-box solutions and other ways to seemingly overcome these restrictions.
ByteBattles with less of these limitations would for instance be a #ShaderShowdown where they use #GLSL aka #openGL #ShaderLanguage to create these visuals. See for example ShaderToy for examples of what can be done with that.
All of this is part of a larger #demoscene, which might also be interesting to check out. :)

@mihira indeed, I mostly use mopidy-spotify for streaming, which caches a lot, which takes away some of Spotify's abilities to track users and their behaviour.
Luckily nowadays there are also alternatives for streaming like #Librespot (https://github.com/librespot-org/librespot). But Librespot itself isn't an official API, it's a hackish reverse engineering of their protocols, and as such it still relies on the mercy of Spotify not implementing too many breaking changes.
mopidy-spotify now is broken because of the libspotify deprecation (and it already broke twice in the past 3 years for similar reasons). Like in the previous occurrences, we'll probably work to adapt to the changes, and probably migrate it to Librespot with some GStreamer plugin. But this starts to be a sterile and unproductive exercize that takes away precious time from open-source contributors' time budget just to play a cat-and-mouse game with companies that try their best to break our implementations.

After a while (a month? maybe two? 😇), I've finally managed to make some time to build and 3D print a distancer for my Mi Home door sensor. Finally, my hallway lights are fully automated - when I enter the apartment, both lights turn on, wait a minute or two and turn off. Nice!
Although tailor-made to my specific use case, it _might_ be useful to somebody, at least as an inspiration.

Rapid KL is informing the visitors of Malaysia International Halal Showcase (#MIHAS) that will be held at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (#MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur that they will be providing #free #shuttle #bus for the event.
The shuttle bus will run from 12 to 15 September 2023 on 9am to 7pm with 30 minutes frequency. The bus will pick up and drop off passengers at KL Sentral ERL KLIA Departure Hall Bus Stop and Sunway Putra Mall main entrance bus stop.
