The voting has endend and they released three more bands selected by the japanese magazine hévn.
And i understand now
they chose: Sugar, Mama. and musyozoku (ex. gulu gulu)

Shocking news. The gazette throws Aoi out of the band.
This is such a tragic end for one of the most successful bands in Visual Kei history.
I am so sad for all the fans, honestly. This is so bitter. First, one band member suddenly dies, and then they cannot manage and break apart like this.

In September D'espairsRay dropped the news of their reunion, and it kind of hit like a bomb! I only could focus on one thing after that and i had to throw over a lot of plans 😂 Back then Despas promised to be back "like a miracle that falls into darkness" which is the song title 闇に降る奇跡. A promise come true. Together with todays snow. Sign upon sign!

In my opinion, 13 is the best release in 2025. Best written song, best music video and in general what a great development for the band. Basically all releases from XANVALA were awesome songs, but 13 just put the cream on top. If a certain thing wouldn't have happened this year, it would be the n˚ 1 song. With this i have properly paid respect to my XANVALA addiction in 2025.

As i assembled the songs beforehand i knew on 3rd place would be a mama. song, but for the life of me i could not decide between this one and witch??. They are both my babies and i love them equally. This song came out in January and went with me through the whole year.

It took a while to figure out, why i love this song so much. It was just recently when i listened to korean trot music. Yakouchuu makes music in this kind of "old school" asian 70/80's music. And i am so here for it. You have no idea how fucking addicted i was to this song. The band had more great releases this year, but 'I crazy" just is THE song.

And although Party's over is probably my favourite song, +Matter reminds me of my favourite Person. In my head the song became dedicated to her. ONE OK ROCK - Party's over | 2025
i started loving ONE OK ROCK around 2013, when The beginning was still fresh. I loved their raw, punkish rockstyle. As they became popular, especially internationally, they became much more poppy and way less raw. Detox though rediscovered their more metal style. And the highlight for me is Party's over. Great song!

I am crossing my fingers for a bright future for this very young and small indie band. Their music has imo strong classical japanese influences (and my head expected to see a band with running around in Kimonos at first), but you cannot actually pin point them, since it's very subtle. Their newest Minialbum is also very great and I can only recommend.

So as a teenager, i had this one burned copy of mixed Gackt songs and a had a craving for a while now to try and dig them up, because I REALLY wanted to listen to birdcage again. Gackt was a hero back then. Ex-Malice Mizer, solo career with hit songs like Vanilla and Mizerablé and oh so very gay. Today it's still cringe, BUT THE MUSIC!

Most anticipated album of the year ✨ it's an album on steroids, ADHD turned into music. As the song (and album) was only released in october, i still could not entirely understand the complexity. I have no idea how the band writes songs, but it's either genius or drugs (or a lot of Tiktok consumption). But i am there for it. My brain loves it.

One of the early highlights of 2025. What a perfect composition between strong guitar riffs and a melodious chorus. The riffs itself constructed to close as a perfect circle, while the chorus leans on old school visual kei and chruch inspired elements. Much love to this young Visual Kei band. I hope they will have bright future ahead!

A small and fun J-Rock band, with a very annoying name but banger music. Nekoze are very creative, with a little punk mixed in and very satisfying bass lines. I can highly recommend them. They need more support!

In October Acidman released their newest album. As I am currently not much into Acidmans music with their recent changes i nearly skippded the album. I had to force myself to add it. But then: it's a masterpiece 😂 they only released the annoying poppy songs, but the rest of the album has that perfect Acidman magic. I get goosebumps listening to 青い風.

I listenend to a lot of mamireta this year and it gave me a lot. Visual Kei at its finest. What is visual kei? Yeah exactly this. It was pretty hard to decide which song was the best, but moshi moshi got it, because of the creative execution. Great art, great band. Their music style is something between industrial/metal/alternative and changed over the years. They were one of the most popular japanese Visual Kei bands in the West, with many live performances all over the world.
