  2. RE: fosstodon.org/@jason123santa/1

Thanks to everyone that replied with helpful comments.
I think that I should go with because its free and I can figure out if I want to continue with it or not. Then I can buy the pro version to support the development if I want to keep using it.
There is also good documentation and guides on github about . Now the hard part is actually learning it and learning the fundamentals of game development.

  7. Should I learn or ? I am thinking to learn tic80 because it supports more platforms to support my game on. At the same time pico8 runs better on my powkiddy v90 handheld where I do want my games to run on.
I know python so I think I can learn lua for pico8 or tic80. As well as the other functions to make a game. I never programmed a game except a duck clicker in python tkinter so it would be cool to learn a game engine and make games.

  14. Just finished the region map screen for Wyrdway.

This is the screen before a drive. You pick the next POI, check the car, and get a quick read on the run ahead.

Built in TIC-80, so every pixel has to work.

  24. Wyrdway v0.0.2 alpha is live.

This is a smaller controls/UI/feedback update:
    - new intro/setup flow
    - gamepad prompts + rumble/haptics + saved options
    - clearer finish and road FX

    Play / download: etomarat.itch.io/wyrdway

If you try it, I’d love to know:
how do the controls and rumble feel now?

  28. Small QoL update -- universal button prompts are now in the UI (confirm/cancel etc).
Next step: add a tutorial and a proper controls description.
