Feels like a little while since I posted a #ByteJam here?
This is three loops overlayed on each other with transparency interference, bouncing along to a clip from @h0ffman's DJ session archive.
Actual alpha transparency isn't possible on #TIC80, so this is technical fakery with bitshifts and judicious palette choices.

Sometimes you guide the code. Sometimes the code guides you.
It was #MondayNightBytes again, for an hour's #ByteJam. I started off with the intention of drawing a flat bunch of tiles with a moving light behind them, but I panicked when I didn't think I had enough time left and made them spin around instead.
The shading, reflection, and draw ordering all work at speed but they won't bear close scrutiny 😄

We had a great day at @hackfestnl yesterday in #Enschede
We stopped by several booths - not quite all?
It was cosy and friendly with a wide range of presenters, some interactive things for us and our kids to do, some cool stuff to look at.
Great talk on designing and laser-cutting fractal puzzles, and we closed out the evening with #demoscene #bytejam including @jtruk
We got home, I've compiled TIC80 to run on a silicon Mac, and I am explaining palettes to my teenager. #hackfestnl -

There will be an online Jam with three anonymous ZX Spectrum Jammers joining at Lovebyte 2025.
The event will last about an hour, offering a unique, nostalgic experience. The participants will be using Bazematic, a browser-based ZX Spectrum live-coding environment.
The anonymity of the jammers adds an element of mystery, allowing the focus to be purely on the creativity and skill displayed.

An enjoyable #ByteJam this evening.
I played with concentric circles, with intention to icorporate into a demo shortly.
I got a decent way in but had trouble adding 3D projection/spinning (I usually start with that), so I whacked some extreme movement/curling into it for texture.
Here it is, a bit more how I envisaged, with a gyroscopic / retro-future sci-fi spaceship dashboard feel. I'm pleased with the technique for shuffling the palette.
