two (2) whole interaction-free days of wheel-spinning, nose-following, generally doing a little bit of a lot of stuff <3
a background task is to get a couple of things together for the #emfcamp CfP...
Who knows if they'll accept "Synthercise, the chiptune dance fitness experience" again, but it's fun to do, @discontinuity seems to be up for co-teaching, and most of the effort has already been made, including new tracks added for #why2025
Yes i did say at the time "I never want to hear this tune again", but my tic80 cover version of Dolly Parton's "9 to 5" is unstoppable

Spent some time this monday preparing the machine including installing 2.11BSD to the M2322 hard drive, as my DIY disk emulator showed some reliability issues at #why2025 . I'm still in the process of applying the latest updates to the system, as rebuilding kernels and part of the userland on a 1MB RAM, less than 1 MIPS system takes a fair bit of time.
Once I'm done updating the system, it will be at patch level 499 - the latest available for #211bsd , released on January 14th 2026!
If you want to play around with this system, visit the open day at RevSpace The Hague next saturday:
https://revspace.nl/OpenDag2026I will be attaching a few physical terminals to it (including a VT55 and VT100!) as well as allowing telnet from the local network.
Besides this, if you do visit and want to trade PDP-11 parts, I have a large collection of mostly QBUS cards that I want to part with, and am looking for PDP-11/84 (PMI) and PDP-11/44 (EUB) memory boards as well as spare CPU cards for the /44.

CW: mentioning cum
Look, I get what they were trying to do with the black-on-black print on the #WHY2025 merch, but at first glance, it almost always looks like cum stains.
Provides some amount of plausible deniability though … 🤔

I just got myself a #WHY2025 Badge and I can’t get the up arrow and enter key to work. Other keys (down, a, esc) work like expected. It works when I unscrew the top plate and move the rubber keyboard ever so slightly, but when I try to assemble the badge like that the screw holes are not aligned and aligning breaks the functionality again. I also looked if the membrane was dirty or misaligned, but it seems to be clean (especially underneath) and aligned to the frame printed on the PCB. I’m a bit lost. Some of the keys work like a charm. Anyone got a similar problem and found a solution?
