Had a crack at shader coding for the @FieldFX #MondayNightBytes ByteJam today.
I'm out of my comfort zone, and you're going to need to peel me away from radial symmetry, but I'm getting the hang of typecasting variables, and it's not quite as 'Dutch colours' as my earlier TIC-80 livecode attempts, so that feels like progress 😄

It was a spooky themed #MondayNightBytes ByteJam this evening, so I put another effect in the bag for Halloween projection.
This very nearly got nowhere, but I managed to pull it through in the last 10 minutes.
The scratchy rendering actually worked really well disguising the simplicity of the mouth - it looked a bit like it was lipsynching to the music!

It was #MondayNightBytes again, for an hour's #ByteJam. I started off with the intention of drawing a flat bunch of tiles with a moving light behind them, but I panicked when I didn't think I had enough time left and made them spin around instead.
The shading, reflection, and draw ordering all work at speed but they won't bear close scrutiny 😄

An enjoyable #ByteJam this evening.
I played with concentric circles, with intention to icorporate into a demo shortly.
I got a decent way in but had trouble adding 3D projection/spinning (I usually start with that), so I whacked some extreme movement/curling into it for texture.
Here it is, a bit more how I envisaged, with a gyroscopic / retro-future sci-fi spaceship dashboard feel. I'm pleased with the technique for shuffling the palette.

An astonishingly good #MondayNightBytes #ByteJam - some incredible effects, and a great Christmas send-off for the community. One to rewatch, I think!
Mine was a riff on classic Amiga demo State of The Art, with a dancing tree and moiré circles in the background.

I really enjoyed last night's @FieldFX #MondayNightBytes.
I usually have an idea of the kind of thing I'd like to build before I start but sometimes I struggle with pacing - and end up falling short by the end of the hour.
This one evolved, so wasn't boring for spectators, and hit somewhere interesting, with a little time for polish.
Colours are a bit muted (what *has* happened to me!?) but I'm pleased with the vibe - reminds me of our Verisimilitude demo.

3D boxes are my new obsession, and I thought I'd have a go with FFT this time round, which I haven't done for a while.
Here's the fix-and-polished version. I think there are some nice things to be had by pushing this a little further.

Having such a brilliant time... I'm glad I promised myself last year that I'd attend in person.
I've got two contributions, both #TIC80, in the new Fantasy Console category. Both collaborations. One a biiig group thing between some @FieldFX #MondayNightBytes regulars (remember to clap along!) and another effect coded on site with @enfys... they'll be shown on the big screen / stream in a few hours time.
