  2. After fixing two AUR `PKGBUILD` files and a bit of patching, the initial rough Arch repo is online. Even made the package list look good with some fancy indexing. The compile takes a long time, but since it's in a VM I'm not too bothered about it. I will probably make an actual build system, but for now the crontab will suffice.

  8. Okay, next big thing: get `svt-av1-psyex` packaged up for installation on Arch Linux. Figured the easiest way would be to grab the PKGBUILD for `svt-av1-psy-git` and tweak as necessary. Also, need to add Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support because reasons.

  11. To people who use #HomeAssistant, do you need #NodeRed to get the most out of it? Found this guide to setting up HomeAssistant in #Docker that helped me get both installed, but Node-Red's interface is pretty much unusable with a #ScreenReader, and I'm thinking of uninstalling it.

  15. been using #ArchLinuxArm and #ManjaroArm (because Arch panicked on that Pi) since June on two Pis.

    Enjoying it so far.

Will definitely use it more. Have gotten over my fear of Arch based distributions and rolling releases

The only thing that is left to see, is how quickly I recover when everythng goes wrong. (if it matches my slow deb distribution based recovery, I’m happy)

  16. @martijnbraam @vurpo the only distro I'm aware of that has #phosh gestures out of the box is #manjaroARM
I was able to successfully build and install on #ArchLinuxARM without errors but couldn't boot into a UI, only a command line. I reverted back to the repo version as I didn't have time to poke around with it.
I would assume most other distros will wait for a stable release before packaging and including it. Manjaro seems to include some things early, which sometimes I like as it makes a good testing distro for things coming down the line.

  18. One week after the TLP 1.8.0 release there are already official distribution packages: Arch Linux, Debian 12 backports, 13 and unstable, as well as Fedora Rawhide and Ubuntu 25.04. The remaining Ubuntu versions are covered by the TLP PPA, Fedora 40/41 by the tlp-updates Repo. See Repology for even more.
