  1. @linmob @danct12 @driftini @PINE64 I tried to download Manjaro for the #pinephone but found just beta releases from march 2024😮 at github using the links for stable versions on the #pine64 wiki page
    wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PinePhone
Is that the version that is shipped with the pinephone?
I know that #manjaroarm is not supported for my #pinebookpro anyway
    😞
I use #armbian on it instead. Works fine.

  2. Dear @Mer__edith and the the amazing @signalapp team,

After the last update, the Signal "desktop app" is requiring us to launch the mobile app - however, many of us do not have the Android or any other "mobile" version of the Signal app any more.

We are a large (by our standards) group of #Linux phone users, and your "desktop" app is our "mobile" app : )

Our previous phones on which #SignalApp was initially activated was an Android or Apple device and we have since then completely migrated to #Linuxphones. Some of us may have registered Signal on #signalcli, Flare, #Molly, Signal Android in #WayDroid, etc.

The #mobileLinux community is growing - we have members spanning a good number of projects and devices, e.g.
    - @purism #Librem5 and #LibertyPhone running #Debian-based #PureOS #GnuLinux, #Alpine-based #PostmarketOS or #Mobian,
    - @PINE64 #Pinephone and PP Pro running #ManjaroARM, #SailfishOS, etc.
    - @furilabs #FLX1 running #Droidian-based #FuriOS,
    - a wide variety of Android phones (including OnePlus 6, Google Pixel 3, #Fairphone 4 & 5) running #Alpine-based @postmarketOS ,
    - @volla , #Fxtec and #Brax3 devices running #UbuntuTouch by @ubports,
    - devices running @mobian which is part of #Debian project, etc.

[Apologies to any project I may have failed to include - you are all appreciated]

  3. @BigEatie I don't know how much mine "counts." But I got a touchscreen off Amazon and put a #RaspberryPi in it (they were already designed to work together). I run #ManjaroARM on it. It's #Linux. It's... a thick #tablet. Kinda counts. It's underpowered compared to the normal tablets out there. I do plan on getting a #FydetabDuo when available. I didn't contribute to the indiegogo campaign yet. I want to be sure they don't pull a #Jing and disappear.

  5. installed Arch onto the Pinephone. It does feel smoother than Manjaro did. I have noticed 2 of the same bugs tho.
*1 - sometimes when trying to type a capital "C" using the soft keyboard it will register a backspace.
    *2 - random lockup/freezing that needs a hard reboot.
both these problems were present on Manjaro & I believe I had the keyboard issue on pmOS also.
Need to test if my mic works for calls now.

  6. @fabrixxm
What distro *aren't* I using? 😜 Seriously though, most of the time I'm using #Mobian or #UBtouch. The former has working online accounts, which I need. The latter, GPU acceleration. I have a soft spot for #PlasmaMobile though as I love #KDE and the visual look of it, so I try to use that occasionally and report bugs (of which there are still many). I'm also keeping a close eye on #ManjaroARM.
    @linmob

  7. @noorul I don't even know yet...all of them? Is that an option lol.

I'll try them all for sure. #Postmarketos #UBtouch #ManjaroARM and others. Then settle on one at some point

  8. We made progress on the Khadas #Vim1 and #Vim3 devices today. They now boot using #mainline #linux 5.4-rc kernel on #ManjaroARM.

Thanks to Spikerguy for testing in the Vim1.

Going mainline seems to make us loose bluetooth on the vim3, but I am willing to do that in exchange for running upstream mainline kernel.

  9. The #pinebook kernel just got updated to 5.3 in the #ManjaroARM repo.
The same with the kernel for the #vim3 .

  10. Making great progress on #rockpi4 support in #ManjaroARM.
So far we need WiFi/bt support which we are now working on. 😀

  11. I just #tagged version 0.1.1 of the #ManjaroARM installer.
This script lets you install an up to date Manjaro ARM directly to your SD card!

  12. And here's a little teaser for the future in #manjaroarm.
This is running on the #OdroidC2 and uses around 400 MB og RAM.
