  1. @linmob @danct12 @driftini @PINE64 I tried to download Manjaro for the #pinephone but found just beta releases from march 2024😮 at github using the links for stable versions on the #pine64 wiki page
    wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PinePhone
Is that the version that is shipped with the pinephone?
I know that #manjaroarm is not supported for my #pinebookpro anyway
    😞
I use #armbian on it instead. Works fine.

  2. Dear @Mer__edith and the the amazing @signalapp team,

After the last update, the Signal "desktop app" is requiring us to launch the mobile app - however, many of us do not have the Android or any other "mobile" version of the Signal app any more.

We are a large (by our standards) group of #Linux phone users, and your "desktop" app is our "mobile" app : )

Our previous phones on which #SignalApp was initially activated was an Android or Apple device and we have since then completely migrated to #Linuxphones. Some of us may have registered Signal on #signalcli, Flare, #Molly, Signal Android in #WayDroid, etc.

The #mobileLinux community is growing - we have members spanning a good number of projects and devices, e.g.
    - @purism #Librem5 and #LibertyPhone running #Debian-based #PureOS #GnuLinux, #Alpine-based #PostmarketOS or #Mobian,
    - @PINE64 #Pinephone and PP Pro running #ManjaroARM, #SailfishOS, etc.
    - @furilabs #FLX1 running #Droidian-based #FuriOS,
    - a wide variety of Android phones (including OnePlus 6, Google Pixel 3, #Fairphone 4 & 5) running #Alpine-based @postmarketOS ,
    - @volla , #Fxtec and #Brax3 devices running #UbuntuTouch by @ubports,
    - devices running @mobian which is part of #Debian project, etc.

[Apologies to any project I may have failed to include - you are all appreciated]

  3. @rl_dane Which version of #armbian do you use ?
The installation to internal storage completes without error, but it doesn't boot with error "mmc boot failed"
Regardless which image I use. I think the install script is broken, at least for my #pinebookpro
#manjaroarm is dead (no updates, Wifi doesn't work) #armbian is dead (doesn't boot from eMMC) on my #pinebookpro
    #distrohopping at its worst.

  4. #manjaroarm is dead. The support should be removed and the time and money spend on the intel/amd platforms. The last update removed the WLAN connection.
The latest update on the unstable branch removed my nextcloud connection and account setting. No, there is no way to get it back. Remote accounts just lists "OpenDesktop". But if I select it an error message is the result. This is really (s)low tech. Since the switch to wayland it is slow as hell.
25 sec. to login and again15 sec. to the desktop

  5. That was my last version of #manjaroarm on the #pinebookpro .
No updates for about one year, switched to unstable branch, updated 925 packages and after reboot the Wifi didn't work any more.
The error message says: "No password specified" although the password is given.
I will try #voidlinux instead, so I do no longer care about #manjaroarm .
It was a mistake buying the #pinebookpro .

  6. been using #ArchLinuxArm and #ManjaroArm (because Arch panicked on that Pi) since June on two Pis.

    Enjoying it so far.

Will definitely use it more. Have gotten over my fear of Arch based distributions and rolling releases

The only thing that is left to see, is how quickly I recover when everythng goes wrong. (if it matches my slow deb distribution based recovery, I’m happy)

  7. Thank & inspire devs for a #MobileLinux future!

We're making a monthly timeline of advances on #LinuxMobile devices, showing how far we've come and where to next!

Please help! It's quick and easy! Just boost this, then visit the doc linked below. Copy one month's biggest advance into it. You'll find them in @linmob's updates (linked in the doc) in the releases and improvements section:

    THANK YOU!

  8. Thanks to @mogwai (and the @[email protected]), there is now a nice Widevine solution for aarch64/arm64.

In and you can now install glibc-widevine and widevine-aarch64 from the to get access to DRM content on Chromium and Firefox.

  9. Got myself a @PINE64 and have to say, it's cool as shit.

But the real reason for this post.. mobile shells. Sorry, but I've never liked plasma. And phosh is cool and all, but what I'm really interested in is . I've just built myself a image with gnome shell for mobile. Sure, it's very rough around the edges, but looks promising.

Any devs here? I want to get involved - be it testing or even shell development, but I wouldn't know where to start.

  10. @BigEatie I don't know how much mine "counts." But I got a touchscreen off Amazon and put a #RaspberryPi in it (they were already designed to work together). I run #ManjaroARM on it. It's #Linux. It's... a thick #tablet. Kinda counts. It's underpowered compared to the normal tablets out there. I do plan on getting a #FydetabDuo when available. I didn't contribute to the indiegogo campaign yet. I want to be sure they don't pull a #Jing and disappear.

  11. Apparently, :homeassistant: doesn't store helper data permanently, only for a week or so. As I used a helper to manually track the water usage of my washing machine and I now lost months of manually entered data, that's semi-ideal 😅

Maybe it's just my setup (:homeassistant: core, installed from on on a :raspberrypi: 4)

    Any ideas?

  12. We have done it again. 22.10 of #ManjaroARM is now available.

This release we added a Generic #efi image to our lineup, so give it a go!

  13. Spent some time with my as it was gathering dust. Installed and riced it to my liking. Very similar to lol.

  14. Iotas was the only app I could get working with #nextcloud notes when running #manjaroARM on my #pinephone
Running #pmOS now and the Iotas Flatpak doesn't sync.
Small things like this are such an annoyance when running mobile Linux.
  15. Has anyone tried the #PinephonePro test camera ( #ppp-cam) app from:
    wongkee.ca/2022/07/02/pinephon

I have a fully updated nightly version of #ManjaroARM with the app cloned.

Every command I've tried so far though results in either an error:
"ERROR: failed to open entity imx258 1-001a: /dev/char/0:0"

...or an empty black square (without even any noise)

Can anyone post a working command?

  16. @martijnbraam @vurpo the only distro I'm aware of that has #phosh gestures out of the box is #manjaroARM
I was able to successfully build and install on #ArchLinuxARM without errors but couldn't boot into a UI, only a command line. I reverted back to the repo version as I didn't have time to poke around with it.
I would assume most other distros will wait for a stable release before packaging and including it. Manjaro seems to include some things early, which sometimes I like as it makes a good testing distro for things coming down the line.
  17. Weird. Latest #manjaroARM beta on the #pinephone seems to have some odd behaviors (per usual). Missing the options in Pamacs settings to enable AUR and Flatpak handling. Searching for some programs/apps returns no results but installing via terminal/pacman works. Minor annoyances but nothing major since I do things this way on PC with EndeavourOS.
