Fern release v1.3.5 is out now, bringing a few stability and bug ​:blobcat_googly_bug:​ fixes since my last ping about v1.3.0:
- desktop launchers (lmk if these dont work on your OS of choice)
- emoji render bugfix
- panics (at the disco) are handled gracefully
- errors dumped to console upon crashes for easier bug reporting

New release of Fern TUI notetaking and journal today with v1.2.0!

Aside from lots of bugfixes and stabilizing improvements to the codebase, some notable items were:
- New languages added, deeper translation of UI & better pluralization (p11n)
- In-app settings editor
- Templates support looping and date offsets for injections

- 🎨 themes are bundled in with the binary builds

As an old and crusty 🦀 millennial who spent their formative years reading stories on fanfiction.net (mostly Harry Potter, to tide me over between book releases, before we knew She Who Must Not Be Named was an evil TERF, but still an awful writer), I've rediscovered a love for fanfiction in some of the amazing #byler fiction on AO3. It allows you to download the story to pdf/epub/etc too. heck yeah!!

Why don't movie theaters partner with streaming services to show popular show releases? Like the #StrangerThings5 batch dropping soon. Attendance tickets could just be an existing subscription QR code (no extra cost). Theaters would gain revenue from concession sales. Yep! Needed to add my user to the tty group (like dialout group on ubuntu) for /dev/ttyUSB* on Void Linux.

My PhD research proposal is nearly done after over a month of working on it full tilt. Been an incredible (re)learning experience! Feel so much more comfortable with producing academic style writing again. Badwolf browser, made by @[email protected], has won me over using it as my primary browser over the past week. Simple, no frills, private, with no JS by default(easily enabled with button when you need it).

Even managed to make some quick n' dirty mods to the source for the few things I missed:
- have a home page when opening for first time
- added a key shortcut to open a new "search" tab which opens a search engine page
