Per-notebook sorting on mobile
Mobile catches up to desktop in Joplin v3.6: each notebook can now have its own sort order.
Journal by date. References alphabetical. To-dos by due date. Whatever fits each notebook. -
I made a weekly planner for the awesome Trilium Notes: capture TODO, IDEA, CHECK, TOREAD and DEFER items anywhere in your notes, then plan them on a weekly board.
Features: backlog, drag & drop scheduling, @today/@fri dates, quick capture, tags + filters, week/work/day views, progress bars, source-note links, and dark/light mode support. #triliumNotes #triliumNext #pkm #noteTakingApp #todo

The best ideas come at the worst times.
That’s why you need a system that’s always with you -
on your phone, your laptop, wherever you are.
With Joplin, your notes stay connected across all your devices, so you can capture ideas instantly and organize them later.
No friction. No lost thoughts. -

@joplinapp is an amazing #NoteTakingApp which I've been using for the past 1 and a half year already!
After migrating out from #AppleNotes, I've tried other alternatives and, by far, Joplin was the best for me, for its simplicity yet feature rich.
I use it for quick notes, but also to write long texts.
It's easy to organize and search for your notes, and the tag system is very handy, specially to group scattered notes!
I really recommend it to everyone!

Joplin v3.6 just got better.
Paste a YouTube link into your note and watch the video right there inside the app - thanks to new external embed support. No more jumping between tabs.

Whilst I thank for the numerous good work you've done - is there any plan to implement a keyboard shortcut to switch between markdown editor and rich text editor? (Not the ctrl L to switch between preview and you panels)Any discussion I've found, old or new, are simply "you are out of luck".
There are many cases where a document works better in a specific editor mode.

Hey guys:
I need a new note-taking stuff, not saying app. I dont want an app. Open-Source, Self-Hosted, Eye candy might be asking too much.
Ideas?

I completely switched from OneNote to @joplinapp (self-hosted) last year.
I'm so happy with the change. Simple yet effective.I also tried Notesnook for a while but didn't keep it. It's quite good however.

So many note-taking apps in the app graveyard! Which is your favourite dead notes app? And which current apps will last the longest?

it ticks all the boxes that can get the people on Fedi raving about:
e2e encryption
FOSS
local first
decentralised
privacy-respecting
available on linux
based out of switzerland :)
generous free planworth checking out. it's similar to notion, in that you can customise it as much as you want.

@tana_inc Voice Memo Update 🚀
Tana will...:
1. Transcribe the audio inside your inbox.
2. Identify any action items, and automatically connect them to other nodes (such as people, cities, etc.).
3. Send all information directly to your daily page.Additionally, by expanding the node, you'll discover options that enable you to rewrite the content.

I'm still not out of the rabbit hole of searching for an #OpenSource #PersonalKnowledgeManagement software. 🐰
I'm gonna give a second try to @zettlr tomorrow! Their docs are *surprisingly* user-friendly and they claim to stick to the pure #CommonMark where probable. It's all the while being nice to researchers with citing, inline usage of #TeXLaTeX, #MermaidJS, and pop-over #footnotes. Provision of the simple #PDF export and #Pandoc customization are welcome, too!
But, to be fair, I may be overexaggerating how good #Zettlr is because of my recent disgust with #VendorLocking. In fact, almost anything that closely follows the common spec and is #FreeSoftware might suffice already. Having something as advanced and closer to the roots is certainly refreshing!

Just wow.
I've never taken pre-installed apps seriously much less on a phone from a brand like #Xiaomi.But... just for fun, I took a look at the built-in notes app. And it's impressive. #MindMaps (also available as an outliner), tasks, quick save mode of selected text fragments from any application (what is important is not "one selection one note", but in one note you can save many quotes/fragments/items).

One good example is Notesnook which is a nice product and worth using. I broadly understand that if a user opts for pro version and then gets downgraded to basic (free) tier due to non-payment, existing data that is specific for pro version (e.g. attachments, images, full page and selection based clips, tags etc.), in Notesnook, will be retained and made accessible to the user. I still do not gave clarity whether existing data in private vault is retained and made accessible. Also, what will happen to recurring reminders of Notesnook pro, after getting downgraded to basic (free), is also not clear to me.
The massive 80% discount to Indian customers is also scary to me. I guess that the 80% discount is only for the first year. What can happen to the pricing during subsequent years?
