To reiterate an old post i made on another platform in a different time: If you want to make America or anywhere that you hold dear “great” again or whatever the slogan is today… The work starts within yourself. We humans make the world what it is. No amount of blame or criticism will shape the hearts of humanity stronger than daily actions against morally wrong deeds. You cannot sublet the hard work to others. You cannot take from someone to enrich your home this way. Wisdom like all things comes through work, effort and perseverance in the face of uncertainty. What’s greater than wisdom? I would rather be a poorer wiser man than even a slightly rich fool. #thoughts #maga #wisdom #morality #Humanity #humanism #criticalthinking #america

Why do I need social media tbh? I don’t even enjoy doom scrolling really… I find myself using it to escape from reality or get anxious about our impending doom as a species. Yet I do want connection, but wouldn’t my energy be better spent reaching out to people I know irl and inviting them for quality time in person? Yes.
But then at the same time I often don’t feel like I have most things in common with my local friends; my best friends I’ve met through the internet.
I do also like sharing my work and life, though I don’t do that nearly as much as I want to.
More than anything I want to build community and make new connections. Just one place online to call home, a platform aligned with my values, and people who share them.

Thoughts from an outsider: If the #AI companies could share the wealth, there would be a lot less concern with where and how they got their #trainingdata. But they can't. It's not money in a bank somewhere. It's valuation. #Valuation is a 2nd cousin to imaginary. It exists because somebody says these guys might make a bunch of money someday and everybody acts like they have that money somewhere, right now. They don't. They might live like they do. But it's all #speculation.

Nora Fischer presents:Forbidden music in performance, film, and storytellingMany people know the name of Frieda Belinfante; the Jewish and queer cellist who became a fierce resistance fighter in occupied Amsterdam, and went on to become the world’s first female conductor of a professional orchestra. Less people know the name of her relative Daniël Belinfante: a brilliant composer working in Amsterdam before dying in Auschwitz in 1945, just before Liberation Day.
At the core of this evening will be the performance of several of Daniël Belinfante’s song sketches that have never before found their way to the stage. One of those, Pale Thoughts, provides tonight’s title as an exploration of both the indistinct past and the incomprehensible.
These songs, together with other contemporary counterpoints, will be performed by the extraordinary singer Patricia Auchterlonie. The music will be interleaved with new film vignettes created by artist – and ancestor – Sam Belinfante from new and archival materials of Frieda, Daniël, and Amsterdam’s lost Jewish Quarter. Music and film, then, will be interwoven by stories told by Nora Fischer about the neighbourhood’s history, war resistance, and the performers’ own reflections on genealogy and intergenerational trauma.
In collaboration with Festival Forbidden Music Regained and The Leo Smit Foundation. Supported by Vaughan Williams Foundation and The Marchus Trust.
