And here’s one for the thoughts and prayers crowd. Brigham Young quoted when he learned the severely delayed handcart company that experienced harsh winter weather conditions in Wyoming had arrived in Salt Lake on November 30, 1856:
“The afternoon meeting will be omitted, for I wish the sisters to go home and prepare to give those who have just arrived a mouthful of something to eat, and to wash them and nurse them up. ... Were I in the situation of those persons who have just come in, ... I would give more for a dish of pudding and milk or a baked potato and salt,... than I would for all your prayers, though you were to stay there all afternoon and pray. Prayer is good, but when baked potatoes and milk are needed, prayer will not supply their place.”

Der Kaffeevollautomat, eigentlich gedacht für eine Kleinfamilie mit moderatem Kaffeeverbrauch, hat nach fünf Jahren Schichtdienst für bummelig 50 Kaffeesüchtige erstmals angemeldet, möglicherweise demnächst in Rente gehen zu wollen. Ein spontaner, klatschender Flashmob und jede Menge Thoughts and Prayers konnten den Kaffeevollautomaten von der Verlängerung seiner Lebensarbeitszeit überzeugen. Kollektives Aufatmen unter den Kaffee-Konsumenten! Es lebe das Koffein!
