Have you ever noticed when trees get old enough they grow their own personality?

I found some really big old growth trees. So big I couldn't quite fit them in a photo. So I experimented with some trick photography taking these wide panorama shots. The first two photos deceive the width so much I added two more flat photos for comparison.

When Western red cedars reach this age their trunk grows into a unique shape. These are likely more than a 1000 years old and 200 years ago trees this size covered much of the Pacific North West.
