My account is a mishmash of everything because I don't want to separate myself into pieces.
Mastodon is a powerful tool because you can easily filter certain words from your feed if you don't want to hear about them right now, and you can also make it so that a CW is added every time a word is mentioned.
You can also hide boosts from certain accounts.
I just hope that if you choose to do this, you're doing it out of self preservation and not because of indifference.

I absolutely hate having to work in order to survive. Don't get me wrong, I'm privileged to be working in a position making what I'm making, but I hate that I can't take an extended break without affecting my future career prospects and job stability. Like, if we had a livable #UBI I'd probably quit my job, then volunteer to do it on my terms and hours.

Today's random frustration: sed does not actually use regex, it uses its own syntax that is frustratingly very similar but a little different from the usual regex. Even adding -r does not work exactly like you expect.

If your instance uses #glitchsoc , your Live Feeds tab will allow you to filter out posts based on a regular expression. But what if you want to filter out posts that don't contain a certain word (i.e. searching for a specific term)? You can use this regex:

I created a #logo for arabi.gay! It's the same #mastodon logo, but I rotated the m on it's side and edited it to make the letter ع for عربي (arabi), and added the #rainbow. The background bubble-elephant-thing kinda looks like the letter م, so that almost completes the #Arabic acronym for LGBT.
