So meta can make a profit from my toots?
So my toots can be injested into their "AI" without my permission?
So they can take control of activityPub and ruin it, like Microsoft does to everything?
So they can track us everywhere?
So they can allow nazis and poor moderation?
They have a history of being evil.
Nah block that shit.

CW: Daily random quote out of context from my academic book about Mastodon
In addition to content moderation concerns, those who sign the #fedipact or otherwise pledge to block Meta cite many other reasons for doing so. vanta’s fedipact site sums up several: “that time they helped facilitate a genocide. that time they helped try to rig an election....

@kajord @MLE_online Google has already scraped Mastodon public accounts. And Threads was Meta’s way of merging with the Fedi which is why many instances block Threads. There was this whole #FediPact campaign to get Threads out of the Fediverse.

starting to think that between being in a book about fedi and getting recognized irl from on here literally 25 times and the last person who recognized me just straight up calling me a fedi celebrity
maybe the work i've done with #FediPact and building community on here was actually worth something and, in fact, quite important. maybe it's not all just in my head after all lol

CW: CW meta
Perhaps what we need is something like #FediPact except for CWs. Some kind of catchy hashtag we can use in posts about CWs, and put in our bios to show that we're safe people to ask about CWs.
A Single-Serving Site with an explanation of why content warnings are important, why they're especially important on Fedi, and probably a list of common things that might warrant content warnings.

Social Web Working Group membership discussion
> Tantek: I also want to propose we reach out to Meta. They contributed to the CG, they implemented Threads, they contributed to tests.
