Read beyond the headline and it's about the RFU wanting to spend £660 million on upgrading Twickenham.
There are roughly 1100 rugby clubs in England that need support - why not give them £250,000 each. The return on that investment would be huge rather than propping up the elitist end of the game.
Imagine what a difference £250,000 would make for your local club.
(1100 x 250,000 is less than half of £660 million)

  7. Reminiscing with my missus about the only time we saw a game played at Twickenham but that was one of the #NFL games many years ago. Definitely not a stadium built for 3+ hours of sport because the steep seating and lack of leg-room was excruciatingly painful. The toilets situation and concessions were very poor too. Hopefully those latter two points have improved in the interim for rugby fans.

  9. Is it time for the #2025WomensRugbyWorldCup final yet? Go #CANADA! I wonder how England will lose later today? They only invented the game. Go England (just a little less) as well, I’m simply excited to pretend I’m in attendance via my couch.

  13. This is where my grandparents, mother and uncle lived during World War 2.

They owned the bakery and lived upstairs. My Mother used to deliver bread to Eel Pie Island.

If they were alive now they would have been amused that the building is now Grade II listed.
