While the world is watching groups of men sweating, pushing and running after a ball, this also happened! Why is this not making more headlines around the world?
On July 4, at 12:54 A.M. MT, Kelsey Pfendler broke the speed record for rowing solo from California to Hawaii. It took her 43 days, 17 hours, and 55 minutes. This is 9 days earlier than the previous fastest time by Rob Eustace who reached Hawaii after 52 days, 13 hours, and 17 minutes in 2014.
The feat also made her the first American woman to complete the journey solo, as well as the youngest.

On a more positive note: Someone has built a lovely little, simple GIS app that visualizes your or others GitHub star sources across the world with some additional analytics. Pretty, useful. Generally awesome I'd say.
Needs more of that. Maybe adapt to @Codeberg or other @forgejo instances? It's FOSS.
