People are constantly advised not to plant them but who can control human greed, it always takes over. Nothing but the teak grows in these plantations - no birds nor rats, insects, or snakes. Depressing to be honest.

Oon tässä hakenut työkokeilupaikkoja ja vieläkään ei tärppää.

Yhdessä paikassa kävin tutustumassa tänään ja totesin ettei ole sopiva paikka mulle. Lähinnä työnkuvan puuttuminen oli isoin ongelma. Käynti ei kuitenkaan ollut ihan turha, sillä sain lisää varmuutta siihen, et mitä mä EN HALUA tehdä. 😅

Siellä työntekijät olisivat halunneet mun käyttävän paljon viittomakielen tulkkia, mutta mä kyllä painotin heille etten etsi sellaista f2f työtä vaan nimenomaan näyttöpäätetyötä, jotta mun ei tarvitse käyttää tulkkeja. Tulkin käyttö on erittäin kuormittavaa jos kyseessä on työ tai opiskelu.

The indoor coffee table I moved outside and coated with #teak #oil a few months ago did phenomenal in the tropical storm #rain. Gave it another coat just for good measure and extra waterproofing. Solid wood + oil works perfectly fine. (Yes, another Craigslist special) #furniture

Trooppisesta yöstä huolimatta nukuin hyvin, mutta aamulla iski todellisuus vasten kasvoja ja muistan, että pitää mennä sinne TEAKiin.

Quick #weekend #project. Took this coffee #table--which was inside holding up a couple of fish tanks, and sanded the top down and put two coats of #Teak #oil on, so we can use this outdoors as #patio #furniture. Probably should have done the teak oil treatment before we used it for the fish tank, lots of water damage. Originally snagged for free off a curb freebie.

Wir haben unsere Kabine fertiggestellt. Es fehlen zwar Beleuchtung und hier und da ein Stück Holz, aber sie ist bewohnbar. Hunderte Stunden haben wir hier verbracht, denn es war alles kaputt: Ein undichtes Fenster hat die obere Wand geflutet, Wasser von oben und unten alle drei Schotts beschädigt. Wir haben alles repariert, mit Armaflex isoliert und umgestaltet.

5/ Alle Hölzer haben wir gereinigt und teilweise geschliffen. Es ist erstaunlich, wie man mit einfachem Reiniger bei #Teak wieder die goldene Farbe zum Vorschein bringen kann.

4/ Hier sieht man, wie wir gespaltene Teile verklebt und defekte Bereiche ersetzt haben, teilweise mit anderem #Teak - teilweise mit #Eloxidharz

2/ Der Kleber hielt nicht mehr dicht, daher konnte See- und Regenwasser durch die Schraubenlöcher und die Deck-Rumpf Verbindung ins innere gelangen.
#Teak ist ein Holz, das sehr witterungsbeständig ist. Die Nutzung von Teak ist aber auch verantwortlich für illegale Abholzung von #Regenwäldern, oft aus #Myanmar. Daher hat die #EU die Importe jüngst stark eingeschränkt. Wir wollten daher das Teak erhalten aber kein neues mehr verbauen.

Unser #Segelboot hat zwar kein #Teak Deck, aber #Teakholz an verschiedenen Stellen: Zum Beispiel an der Süll (Rand des Cockpits) und rundherum an der Fußreling. Hier dichtet die Verklebung den Übergang von Deck zu Rumpf ab.
Bootsrümpfe werden meist in zwei Teilen gebaut. Man kann dann das Innere einbauen und am Ende den „Deckel“ aufsetzen. Bei uns wurde nach 47 Jahren (bzw. Ein paar Jahre früher) leider diese Verbindung zum Problem.
