Сеть вместо SD-карты: как собрать минимальный Linux для Raspberry Pi с возможностью загрузки по сети

Когда собираешь и тестируешь свой Linux для одноплатника достаточно долго, начинаешь замечать, что деплой Linux на SD-карту — монотонная повторяющаяся последовательность действий, занимающая ценное время, в которой легко совершить ошибку. К тому же больно видеть, как исчерпывает свой ресурс SD-карта и слот для неё. Часто при embedded-разработке эти проблемы решают при помощи сетевой загрузки Linux. В этой статье я расскажу, как организовать сетевую загрузку для Raspberry Pi и собрать минимальное ядро Linux, поддерживающее сетевую загрузку. Сетевая загрузка рассматривается для Raspberry Pi 3 Model В и Raspberry Pi 4 Model B, которые я далее называю общим термином Raspberry Pi или более ласково — малинка. Основное назначение окружения для сетевой загрузки — ускорение отладки и тестирование пользовательских приложений и программ разрабатываемого дистрибутива Linux. Тема сетевой загрузки довольно многогранна и затрагивает несколько уровней стека — от протоколов локальной сети до особенностей загрузчика Raspberry Pi. Я старался изложить материал максимально просто и последовательно, но если у вас нет базовых знаний о работе локальных сетей (DHCP, TFTP), протоколах TCP/IP или процессе загрузки Linux, некоторые моменты могут показаться сложными. Статья является продолжением моей предыдущей статьи , где я рассказывал, как создать минимальный Linux для Raspberry Pi, который грузится с SD-карты. В свой репозиторий я поместил исходный код Docker-образов, упрощающий сборку минимального Linux и настройку окружения для сетевой загрузки. Надеюсь, что статья сэкономит вам время, которое вы сможете потратить на свой увлекательный проект.

I have spent the last 2 nights installing Calibre on a RPi 3. It has been a mental workout. Last night was a breakthrough and I have it up and running! Managed to get my books into the library and currently checking to see that things work. During this entire process, I took notes of what steps I took to get to the end goal. I don't know what went wrong where, but the fact I have been able to recreate this issue several times made me realize I should probably document this.

Just release this new thing to read nmea messages from neo-6mv2 GPS module with rpi, right now tested with rpi3 running Raspbian GNU/Linux bullseye and bookworm.
Some nmea messages still on TODOs mode.

@Oskar hace poco pasé por lo mismo que tú, no tenía #nextcloud, pero si otros servicios de monitorización, #pihole, #bookwyrn, #wordpress, etc. que provocaron que mi #Rpi3 ya no diese de más, la pobre 😀

Viendo los precios que tenían la Orange y la nueva Rpi, incluso #odroid para traerla desde Corea, opté finalmente por un #minipc o #nuc. Básicamente porque la diferencia de precios ya no existe, incluso puedes encontrar algo más barato. Y en cuanto a potencia no hay color.

Si lo que te preocupa, como era a mí, el consumo energético te podría decir que varía muy poco. Vas a pagar si dejas el minipc encendido todos los días 24x7 unos 2€ más al mes, lo que son 20€ más al año (más o menos) o incluso menos.

Tinc una #RPi3 a casa dels papes que em fa de client torrent. Fa cosa d'un any va semblar morir el disc dur extern que hi tenia, així que es van acabar les pelis.

Ara hi vaig, el disc dur té el LED encès, em conecto per SSH, el fdisk -l em diu que el /dev/sda està connectat, faig un mount -a, i ja torno a tenir disc dur.

Sóc imbècil. En què carai estaria jo pensant des d'Alemanya?

Zojuist de #homeassistant #rpi3 maar een upgrade gegeven.

- backup trekken
- backup extern opslaan.
- instellen boot vanaf usb, daarna SD.
- 500GB SSD aan de usb gehangen met verse #homeassistant
- booten
- wachten 🍷
- grr ff prutsen met DHCP server (was gereserveerd)
- restore from backup
- up & running in ~30 minuten.

Volgens mij is de keuze nu al duidelijk. Exit #Domoticz, welcome #HomeAssistant.

Eerste avond op een #RPi3 met 64GB kwaliteitskaart. De webdiensten lezen zich makkelijk in, nu nog wachten op die P1 kabel. #knutselen
