Who needs fancy #filament spool holders? Not me 😅
Could not resist getting a shiny 2kg #Prusament Galaxy PLA spool during clearance.
Being well equipped with dryers and storage boxes for 1kg, this 125mm wide monster, provided a bit of a challenge at home.
Obviously the cardboard solution did not work well. The vibrating A1mini and holder kept pulling toward each other and filament ripped.
So I elongated an existing spool holder mod in OrcaSlicer and it works perfectly 🤓

New box design with the new reusable #Prusament spools. It's 5 mm thinner than the original one.
I also like the new graphic.
Only thing I'd prefer is a sticker on the spool instead of laser engraving. This would make it easier to read and replace once you refill.

Upgraded my #3dprinted 7-segment clock using translucent #prusa PETG (previously using white PLA). Now it lets a LOT more light through which unfortunately means we have some hotspots where the LEDs are, but in person it looks kinda like a Nixie display! Definitely much clearer and easier to read.

Finished my new keyboard! it’s an evolution of my old keyboard with some function keys and media keys moved to the top right so I stop pressing mute instead of ctrl! It is a little taller than I like but the design I layered so I think I can shave off at least 5mm without too much hassle (probably more!)

Proč hanit #Průša a jeho #Prusament ?
Za tohle může evidentně skladování nebo spíše doprava a jejich skladování - sám jsem to zažil, proto v létě kdy jsou vedra volím lepší dopravce.
Prošlo nám v #3D #farma už přes XX tisíc cívek a to 2/3 návin nad 1kg. #Prusament považuji po #DevilDesign a #Fiberlogy za dobrý co se týče dlouhodobé kvality.
Ale pokud jsi koupil 1 cívku a potřebuješ tisknou, chápu tvé rozhořčení .... -

When the #3DPrinter is operating really well and printed 25 parts with very little error and issue.
That’s when you decide to take #Prusa3D #Upgrade parts out and start dismantling and upgrading.

Tak jsem objednal z RPishop.cz #Abaflex (#PLA a #PETG ) a #PlastyMladeč (#PLA ).. za #Průšament se mi přeplácet nechce a #Bambulab s #Aurapolem nikdo nikde moc neměl :/
Docela mě zajímá srovnání PM vs Aba, jestli to uživatelsky nějak poznám. Až najdu někde k dispozici Aurapol a Bambu, určitě jednu špuli na zkoušku vezmu taky

I wanted to try out my new terracotta PETG from prusament so I printed this cutie. I added fuzzy skin to add a bit of texture.I think it is a very pretty color, albeit a bit too shiny to give it a true terracotta feel.
Molly the owl will now sit on my desk and help me debug my code.

I thought that maybe the #BambuLab filament would be as good as the #Prusament, or perhaps the one to top them, but their Prusament #PLA remains uncontested (AFAIK).

Prusament PETG Matte Black doesn't seem to age well. Just opened a year-old, vacuum-sealed spool that I had stored away. Despite drying it for five hours, the extrusion was almost foam-like. 🤔
I had fantastic printing results when I first bought these spools, so something must have changed with the material over the past year.

Prusament PETG "Matte Black" is my favourite black filament so far. Objects look gorgeous, and the matte finish disguises 3D printing artefacts.
One big downside: The filament seems highly flammable (test it!). It burns almost like a sparkler, and it is tough to put out.
Usually, PETG is very safe regarding flames; it does melt but does not readily catch fire. Adding a flame retardant would be a sensible thing.

CW: Disturbing Flammability of 3D-Printing Filament
In addition to my note about the flammability of Prusament PETG Matte Black: Here is a short video that shows how fast it catches fire and how intense it burns.
Most PETG filaments do not catch fire, or if they to, they do not sustain the flame.

Opened two sealed #Prusament spools yesterday (ASA and PETG) and put them into my drybox. Humidity raised overnight from the regular 10% to over 30%. I also hear those tiny popping noises when I print with this PETG and get a lot of stringing, which almost vanished for me since storing the spools in the drybox.
I always thought #filament to be really, really dry coming from the manufacturer (with its silica pack) but it seems you need to dry it yourself a few days before use.
