Was mein ihr? :3

Just in time manufacturing comes to #Christmas !
Not exactly an ITB intake manifold for the #4AGE in the #Toyota #MR2 but you have to start somewhere. Ha!

Switching to the high-flow nozzle on the PrusaXL made a huge difference in print speed! I printed 18 sturdy storage boxes using leftover Fiberlogy PETG in just 14 hours. These are structural, high-quality prints with excellent layer adhesion.
-
Pfff. I have an #E3D #toolchanger with 2 toolheads, but the print quality wasn't top, and I don't have the time nor desire to carefully tune profiles. On the other hand, having 2 toolheads is awesome for printing e.g. PLA supports for PETG etc and works so much better than an #MMU or equivalent. And then there's the #PrusaXL that I would want, but is just too expensive to justify. Bah

For some reason I've been tending to #3dprinting design with perimeters but no infill. This is a battery bracket for a #Toyota #AW11 #MR2 designed in #Autodesk #Fusion360 printing on a #PrusaXL in PLA.

Having multiple extruders can help you make use of old/bad filament elegantly: filament that you would not use otherwise often may still be used for infill.
That way, it still serves a purpose but you don't need to worry about bad bed adhesion or ugly surface artifacts. In #PrusaSlicer, just set the "infill extruder" in "print settings / multiple extruders" to whatever filament you want to use for that. Do not change the "massive infill" extruder setting; otherwise your top/bottom surfaces will also be printed with the "infill" filament. -
The same print, this time with the input shaper turned off, using a 0.6mm nozzle.
Unfortunately, the issue persist, albeit less severely than with the input shaper on. It appears the filament isn't quite ready to extrude when the print head begins at the seam.
-
I tested if PrusaSlicer 2.7.2-beta1 solves the seam problem on PrusaXL.
-
Tested PrusaSlicer 2.7.2-alpha2 on my Prusa XL, using PETG and the 0.32mm Speed profile. Happy to report most blobs along seams vanished!
Seems like bottom layer issues also got smoothed out, hinting at a ramping algorithm tweak rather than over extrusion.
The OK seam is due manual placement on the inner and outer, 20mm apart. Long travel paths for the print head, still result in holes along the seams.

RT from SameOldShane #1440makers (@SameOldShane)
So I guess it's a contest between myself and @PrusaGuy and who has the bigger bust??? (I know I'm going to hell for that bad pun) Part 1 out of 3 almost done on the #prusaxl 5 tool head. Printer in #prusament galaxy black. Will share links when it's done printing.

With a #PrusaXL, you'll still need to have purges if I understand correctly because it still only has a single nozzle and then the #PrusaMMU.
If you want a #IDEX, #SnapMaker is currently the leader in the space.
