Forget “standard layout.” UHK doesn’t really do standard.

You can run it split or not split, fine-tune ergonomics with risers, swap modules, and redesign your thumb clusters around how you actually work—typing, gaming, or living inside macros and shortcuts.

Layer systems on top of that, and the keyboard turns into a fully programmable control surface instead of a fixed input device.

I’m trying to find an optimal setup for a friend’s first #MechKeeb based on her preferences from trying a couple of mine & keen to know about anyone’s experience with Keychron Banana or Silent Yellow switches (as well as any other quiet #tactile switches if you have recs for different brands) 🙏

It’s the Golden Age of ergonomic #MechanicalKeyboards with dozens of companies making them

And there’s really no standards and not much data on how to find which different #ergonomics will work for each person

Probably a split board with tenting above 25° or so might be two key features

A lot of boards don’t tent that high, but I’m pretty sure it’s one of the few features that have actually been studied

I’ve got two #Dygma boards and am waiting for a #NayaCreate

my #Moonlander #keybind of the day: the mighty semicolon `;`

i hold down the semicolon `;` key, the layer changes on the left half to one that is configured for one-button taps that send:

- `⌘ + [`and `]`
- `⌘ + ⇧ + [` and `]`

to very quickly cycle panes and tabs in iTerm, web browsers, and, any other application that has a tab bar, really.

as shown i also can control the pointer, wheels, and clicks in the same layer.

_;_ is mighty mighty.

Not exactly Mail Day, but I was looking online for a new PCB for my #NK65 Milkshake (zapped mine through the USB somehow and killed it) and couldn't find one.

Instead I found someone selling a bare bones kit of the #Rama Kara Soya (with some well tuned #Durock stabs and a tape mod).
So I harvested the NK Silk Yellow switches from the NK65 and a Laser inspired keycaps set I had lying around.
Sounds so silky and yet still thocky, just the way I like it.

Just finished programming in all my MacOS macros and stuff. This is now my new Office #Keyboard
