  1. Haven't had a paper printer in forever so nabbed one of them color laser ones (cartridges are a scam and ecotanks ain't much cheaper), which coupled with sublimation paper allows one to do... among other stuff, dyesub keycaps for my custom keyboard!

  5. Cool concept, the $230 #OpenAI #Codex Micro. Couldn't resist giving #PolyKybd the same powers in under an hour. 😅
You can even read the agent status, no color guessing 😉
Cost: $0. No extra hardware, just firmware. #MechanicalKeyboards

  7. Forget “standard layout.” UHK doesn’t really do standard.

You can run it split or not split, fine-tune ergonomics with risers, swap modules, and redesign your thumb clusters around how you actually work—typing, gaming, or living inside macros and shortcuts.

Layer systems on top of that, and the keyboard turns into a fully programmable control surface instead of a fixed input device.

  8. 👋🏼 now it's easier to see what's left: mintlodica.com/collections/wha

i'd say it's bittersweet, but that would be a lie. super ready to be done. lmao

help me clear it out. 🙏🏻 esp if you know folks who'd like the light blue magic girl set.

  10. My one IRL #mechanicalkeyboards buddy went ahead and designed a truly custom keyboard. It's got gerber files and everything. Respect.

I can't go less than 6x4 keys per hand, but I do love the trackball under the thumb.

  12. I learned touch typing with the website monkeytype.¹

It's a nice website, but it's full of surveillance-capitalism crap, like Google's Firebase. Its developer is a twenty-something five years out of college. He started monkeytype in 2020 while still being in college, so I presume he doesn't know how to achieve his idea in a different way and maybe isn't even aware of the problems that using Google's technology entails.

Users can already be uniquely identified by their typing patterns.²

I am thus sceptic of storing extremely detailed information about my keystroke dynamics (like which letters I misspell the most, which of my fingers are strong and which are weak, how many milliseconds lie between certain bi-grams such as 'th', 'ng', 'he', 'lo', et cetera) in a database on Google's infrastructure.

Knowing Google, they might someday use that information to track me. So I don't want to give it to them in the first place.³ I don't think I'm overly paranoid here.

Has anyone already thought about this?

    ¹ monkeytype.com
    ² en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keystrok
³ I use monkeytype only while being logged out and blocking all Firebase-related network traffic.

Would anyone be okay to answer them patiently?

What's the point of these #MechanicalKeyboards if I make an LLM write all my code? Typing on these is such a pleasure. I'm gonna stick to typing by myself, thank you. #AI

  17. Been using the Flow Lite 100 for about a day now, coming from a full mechanical keyboard, and apart from the layout being a bit different to what I'm used to, typing on this thing is just insanely nice.

It's this really nice midpoint between a mechanical keyboard and laptop keyboard (both experiences I like in different ways).

One thing I didn't realise I'd appreciate this much is that it's got more of a "creamy" click, which is really nice!

  19. Switching to a split keyboard isn’t instant for most people.

But when it does click… it really clicks, and there's no going back. ⌨️✨

What was your experience like? Was it instant comfort or a slow transition?
