I was browsing invent.kde.org and I felt so good to see so many changes and improvements in the graphic tablet configuration and support work for KDE plasma's wayland session.
We all should thank @redstrate @nicofee and the @kde team. Also thanks to @whot for working on libinput. 🙏 🙏 ❤️
I believe plasma 6.2 and later versions are going to have better support for graphic tablet configuration.

God, Krita's Freehand Path Tool (aka Lasso Tool) with the auto fill colour option on, is just so nice for blocking out shapes for an illustration.
Photoshop wishes it could do this with such ease.

I keep on finding new brushes I adore in Krita. My current favourite is a wet palette knife brush which I've updated with a little texture as well as a hue, saturation, and value jitter on each stroke. It's gorgeous.
I feel like I'm having a little bit of a level up moment with my work since I've been using Krita, no joke. I know tools aren't necessarily what makes the piece, but the app is just doing all sorts of things that just click with me as an artist.

At the moment it's only ~€10 pm so no worries if not. But if I can raise a bit more I could probably upgrade the streaming CPU. Plus any extra money will be going straight to supporting the #opensource applications I use.

Oooh... this looks very interesting. This level of control with colour and pressure in a brush is not something I've seen in Photoshop. I can't wait to experiment with it.

Another minor thing I like in Krita over Photoshop: Krita's brush cursor adjusts in real time during the stroke. This includes brush size and rotation.

One thing I've noticed in Krita that I do way more than in Photoshop is rotating and navigating the canvas. Other than panning, I rarely manipulated the canvas in PS. In Krita, since the navigation is so effortless, I'm rotating, zooming, panning all to get the right angle and zoom while painting. Speeds up the process and probably saves my wrist and posture in the process.

Just discovered Krita also has an automatic time-lapse recording setup similar to Procreate. (Needs a tiny amount of setup)
That's very cool! I love sharing art process videos.
Also handy in our ever growing fight with AI imitation to show off the human creative process.

LADS! Krita is pretty great, I'm not going to lie.
Been playing with it off an on the past couple weeks. I could see this easily taking over as my Photoshop equivalent.

Are you a raster image creator like myself but then on occasion want to open a vector image to get it rendered at the right size, but then also don't want to pay for Adobe Illustrator to open it a couple times a year...
Great news! there's a free open source vector art application option out there. Try out Inkscape!
